Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom One / One Europe / Rider Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (F650010252)
This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the TomTom One, One Europe, One Regional, Rider, and over 22 additional variants. It fits the portable GPS navigator used for vehicle navigation and turn-by-turn route guidance. Voltage and capacity match OEM specification exactly — no modification needed.
- One, One Europe, One Regional, and Rider compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V cell format, connector pinout, and physical footprint — 42.80 × 34.30 × 8.50mm — which is why one cell covers the full range. The BMS handshake on each variant accepts the same charge termination voltage, so no firmware issues arise on swap.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the TomTom One platform. The BMS reached charge termination cleanly at 4.2V and held the low-voltage cutoff without triggering a false shutdown during normal navigation load.
- Cold-start satellite acquisition after power interruption: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors before your first drive. The GPS performs a full cold start after any complete power removal — expect 5 to 10 minutes for the first satellite fix rather than the sub-minute warm start you were used to before the swap.
GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the TomTom One
When cell voltage drops toward 3.5V, the TomTom One reduces power to the GPS receiver to protect the remaining charge. This cuts receiver sensitivity, which degrades position accuracy and can cause the blue dot to drift or snap to wrong roads. The fix is straightforward — keep the unit on USB power during long routes, or charge before the battery indicator drops below one bar. A fresh cell at full capacity delays this threshold considerably compared to a degraded original battery.
TomTom One shuts off without warning instead of showing a low battery alert
This happens when the battery indicator is no longer calibrated to the actual cell — the on-screen percentage shows two bars, then the unit cuts off instantly. The root cause is that the fuel gauge in the TomTom One uses a stored discharge curve that drifts once the original cell ages or is replaced. To recalibrate, run two full discharge-to-shutdown cycles followed by a full charge to 4.2V without interruption. After two cycles the indicator aligns to the new cell and the low-battery warning reappears at the correct threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TomTom One lost all my saved routes and favourites after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes, and it happens because the TomTom One stores some user data in RAM that requires continuous power to hold state. A full battery removal — even briefly — clears that volatile memory. Saved favourites stored to the internal flash survive the swap, but recent route history and some POI data held in RAM will be gone. Re-enter your key destinations and save them explicitly to the device's favourites list so they persist through any future power interruption.
The TomTom One is taking 8 minutes to find satellites after the battery swap — was the new battery installed wrong?
Nothing is wrong. Any complete loss of power forces the GPS receiver into a cold start, which means it has to re-download almanac and ephemeris data from scratch rather than using cached satellite positions. That process takes 5 to 10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power cycles warm-start in under a minute once the receiver has rebuilt its satellite cache. Park outside, leave the unit on, and let it finish the first fix before driving.
The TomTom One drains the new battery much faster when I'm actively navigating than when I just leave it on the dashboard — what's pulling that power?
Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the backlit display simultaneously, which is the highest-draw state the device operates in. Screen brightness is the biggest variable — at maximum brightness the display alone accounts for a significant share of total current draw. Drop screen brightness to 50% or lower in the display settings and connect USB power on longer trips. If drain still seems faster than expected, check whether the map-rendering engine is set to recalculate routes frequently, as constant recalculation keeps the processor active and adds to current draw.
