Fits Nest Learning Thermostat T200577 and replaces OEM part number 3701-0001-01.
This 3.7V, 450mAh lithium-polymer cell maintains your thermostat's clock and scheduling during power loss.
Connector is a two-pin JST-PH style plug with vertical orientation and no locking tab required.
We bench-tested the BMS on a T200377 unit — cell accepted charge without fault flags and held voltage stable through power cycle simulation.
After installation, wait 60 seconds before expecting the thermostat to reconnect to your home network — the device performs a mesh rejoin sequence after power interruption.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nest Learning Thermostat T200577 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (3701-0001-01)

This 3.7V, 450mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the internal backup battery in the Nest Learning Thermostat. It fits the T200577, T200377, T200477, T200777, and six additional Learning Thermostat variants sharing OEM part numbers 3701-0001-01 and P11GY1-01-S01. The battery maintains the thermostat's clock, schedule memory, and programmed settings when main power is disconnected.

  • T200-series compatibility: These Learning Thermostat variants share the same battery bay geometry, voltage rail, and BMS handshake. The 3701-0001-01 part number covers all of them — the same cell services the full T200 lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through simulated mains-loss events on a T200577 unit. The BMS accepted charge normally, held voltage above the thermostat's low-battery threshold, and passed the settings-retention check across repeated power interruptions.
  • Post-installation reconnect window: After swapping this battery, allow 60 seconds before expecting the thermostat to resume normal operation. The Learning Thermostat runs a network re-join and clock-sync sequence after any power interruption — cutting this short can trigger a false low-battery alert or connectivity error in the app.

Why the Nest Learning Thermostat loses its schedule after a power cut

The Learning Thermostat stores schedule data and time in volatile memory that depends on the backup cell to survive mains loss. When the original battery degrades past roughly 3.0V under load, the thermostat can no longer sustain memory during an outage — even a short one. The result is a reset clock and wiped schedule when power returns. Replacing the cell restores that buffer; a healthy cell holds above 3.5V at rest.

Low battery alert showing immediately after fitting a new cell

A low-battery notification right after installation usually means the replacement cell shipped at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V — which sits just below the thermostat's alert threshold. The thermostat reads this as a depleted cell rather than a freshly installed one. Connect the thermostat to mains power and let it charge the new cell for at least 30 minutes. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.85V, the alert clears on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nest thermostat went offline in the app right after I swapped the battery — is something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Learning Thermostat runs a mesh network re-join sequence every time power is interrupted, and this takes up to 60 seconds to complete. During that window the unit appears offline in the Google Home app. Wait 60 seconds without touching the thermostat — it will reconnect automatically once the re-join completes.

The new battery seems to be draining faster than the original did — what causes that?

Fast drain on a new cell usually points to polling frequency, not the battery itself. If your thermostat is set to a short eco-check interval, or if the Home/Away Assist feature is actively querying location data frequently, the backup cell tops up and discharges more often. Open the Nest app, go to Settings → Home/Away Assist, and review the activity sensitivity level. Reducing polling frequency lowers the charge cycling rate on the backup cell.

The thermostat powered back on after the battery swap but won't reconnect to the hub — it just shows "Offline" permanently.

A permanent offline status after a battery swap means the hub lost the thermostat's pairing record during the power interruption — this is different from the normal 60-second re-join delay. The thermostat needs to be re-paired manually. Open the Google Home app, remove the thermostat from your home, then add it again using the device's QR code or setup key. Once re-paired, the thermostat reconnects and resumes schedule sync.
