Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nevo SL — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (20-00778-00A)
This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Nevo SL universal remote control. It replaces OEM part number 20-00778-00A exactly, matching the original cell's voltage, capacity, and physical footprint. The Nevo SL uses this single Li-Polymer cell to power its IR transmitter, touchscreen, and wireless control functions.
- Nevo SL specific fit: The SL platform runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack with a dedicated BMS that monitors cell voltage and protects the touchscreen controller from undervoltage shutdown. This battery matches that cell spec — connector orientation, protection circuit, and nominal voltage — so the remote's firmware recognises it correctly on power-up.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and confirmed the BMS trips at the correct low-voltage cutoff, protecting the remote's display circuitry. Charge acceptance and capacity held consistent with the 1200mAh rating across multiple cycles.
- Li-Polymer storage rule for the SL: If the Nevo SL sits unused for more than a few weeks, store it with the battery at roughly 40–60% charge. A fully depleted Li-Polymer cell left in storage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold, which will prevent the remote from powering on at all — even after plugging in to charge.
Why the Nevo SL won't turn on after a new battery install
A new Li-Polymer cell shipped at partial charge may sit just below the SL's minimum startup voltage if it was stored for a long time in transit or in a warehouse. The remote's protection circuit blocks power-on until the cell reaches a safe operating threshold. Connect the Nevo SL to its charger for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power it on. Once the cell clears approximately 3.5V, the BMS will release and the remote will boot normally.
IR range drops noticeably before the battery reads as low
The Nevo SL's IR LED requires a consistent current burst to fire a strong signal. As the Li-Polymer cell ages and its internal resistance rises, voltage sags under the brief high-current demand of each IR pulse — even if the resting voltage still looks acceptable. The remote's display may show a normal battery indicator while the effective control range has already shortened significantly. Replacing the cell restores the clean voltage delivery the IR transmitter needs for full-range operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
I just put in the new battery and the Nevo SL still won't respond to any button presses — what's wrong?
The most likely cause is that the replacement cell shipped at a low state of charge and hasn't yet reached the BMS release threshold. Connect the remote to its charger for 15–20 minutes before pressing any buttons. If it still won't respond, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a half-inserted connector on a Li-Polymer pack gives no power at all. The remote should power on once the cell reads above approximately 3.5V.
My Nevo SL works, but I have to point it directly at the TV from close range — is the new battery the problem?
Yes, this is a voltage-sag issue at the IR LED. If the replacement cell's internal resistance is elevated — from age, deep discharge in storage, or incomplete initial charge — the brief current burst each IR pulse demands causes the voltage to sag below the transmitter's minimum threshold. The remote appears functional because the display and touch input draw far less current than the IR LED. Charge the battery fully and retest; if range doesn't recover to roughly 10 metres, the cell may have been stored too long in a discharged state.
The Nevo SL battery seems to drain much faster than expected even though I'm not using the remote heavily — what causes that?
A stuck or partially depressed button on the Nevo SL creates a continuous parasitic draw that runs the cell down well ahead of normal self-discharge. Press each button individually and confirm none feel sticky or physically lodged. Li-Polymer cells also degrade faster if they're repeatedly cycled down to near-zero before recharging — try plugging the remote in before the low-battery indicator appears. If drain persists after ruling out stuck buttons, inspect the charging cable and port for debris causing an incomplete charge cycle.
