Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NiKon Coolpix P7000 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EN-EL14)
This 7.4V, 1030mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM EN-EL14 battery in the NiKon Coolpix P7000, P7100, P7700, and P7800, along with 33 additional compatible models. It powers the camera body, LCD display, image processor, and all shooting functions. Voltage and connector match the original spec exactly.
- Coolpix P7000 series compatibility: All four P7-series bodies share the same EN-EL14 battery bay, 7.4V voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers the full lineup without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Coolpix P7000 body and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, reported charge state, and held voltage through sustained burst shooting without triggering an early cutoff.
- First-install charge cycle on the Coolpix P7000: Run the first full charge from inside the camera body using the OEM charger cable. Some P7000 bodies require one in-camera charge cycle before the battery-remaining indicator maps correctly to the new cell's discharge curve.
Battery percentage jumping on the P7000 display after fitting a new cell
The Coolpix P7000 maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds calibrated for the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell can show the same voltage at a different state of charge, so the indicator reads high, then drops suddenly. This is a BMS recalibration issue, not a cell fault. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will stabilise against the new curve.
P7000 showing dead battery icon on a replacement cell that just came off the charger
When a P7000 shows a dead battery icon immediately after inserting a freshly charged replacement, the camera's authentication check has not yet accepted the new cell. This happens on first insert when the BMS has no charge history for the cell. Place the battery in the OEM charger or charge in-camera until the indicator shows full, then power cycle the body. After one complete in-camera charge cycle, the body recognises the cell and the icon clears. Charge to 8.4V before the first shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Coolpix P7000 battery percentage drops from 80% straight to empty — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The P7000's indicator uses voltage thresholds set for the OEM cell's discharge curve, and a new cell discharges along a slightly different curve, causing the gauge to jump. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will recalibrate. After the second cycle, charge to full and watch whether the drop repeats — if it stabilises above 20% before the next sudden drop disappears, the recalibration has completed.
Shot count on the P7000 is well below what I expected from a 1030mAh cell — what's pulling the charge down?
Flash recycling is the biggest draw on the P7000 that most users don't account for. Each flash discharge pulls several hundred milliamps from the cell to recharge the capacitor, and back-to-back flash shots cut the available shot count significantly compared to ambient-light shooting. Continuous autofocus and the rear LCD at full brightness add further draw on top of that. Reduce flash use or switch to natural light for a session and you will see the shot count rise noticeably.
The P7000 flash is taking longer to recycle between shots near the end of a charge — is that a battery issue?
Yes — this is normal behaviour as cell voltage drops toward the lower end of its discharge curve. The flash capacitor recharges from the battery rail, and as voltage sags at lower states of charge, the capacitor takes longer to reach its trigger threshold. It is not a fault with the cell. If recycle lag starts appearing above 30% indicated charge, the cell voltage is sagging early under load — check the terminal voltage under load, which should hold above 7.0V during flash use.
