Fits Nokia 105 2023 phone; replaces OEM battery part number BL-L5J.
3.7V and 1000mAh capacity powers basic calls, texts, and standby on this feature phone.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested this cell on a Nokia 105 2023 unit; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable under idle discharge.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without removing the battery — the fuel gauge IC needs to calibrate against this cell's discharge curve before the phone reports accurate percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia 105 2023 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-L5J)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Nokia 105 2023 feature phone. It uses the BL-L5J form factor and slots directly into the original battery compartment. Voltage and cell dimensions match the OEM spec: 53.25 × 34.00 × 5.00mm.

  • Nokia 105 2023 fit: The 105 2023 runs a low-draw hardware platform — basic voice calls, SMS, and standby. The BL-L5J cell is the sole battery format Nokia specified for this revision. No adapter or modification is needed; the connector and physical envelope are unchanged from the factory part.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge on the Nokia 105 2023 platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake on the first cycle, held voltage flat through standard call-load draws, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without triggering premature shutdown.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic power-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before use. The Nokia 105 2023 uses a basic coulomb counter that calibrates its percentage reading against the first complete cycle — skipping this step causes the phone to report inaccurate charge levels from the start.

Why the Nokia 105 2023 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The 105 2023 stores a discharge curve from the original cell in its fuel gauge IC. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry and internal resistance. The percentage display can read 40% and then drop to zero with no warning. One full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge resets the reference curve. After that single cycle, percentage tracking stabilises.

Phone won't power on after sitting in storage with a flat BL-L5J

If the BL-L5J cell has discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs to push a trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. Once the cell recovers above 3.0V, the phone boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nokia 105 2023 shuts off suddenly even though the screen still showed 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a faulty cell. At low state of charge, the cell's internal resistance rises sharply, and even a brief call-load draw causes the voltage to sag below the phone's cutoff threshold before the percentage display catches up. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell curve. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge, and the shutdowns at 20–30% will stop.

The battery percentage on my Nokia 105 2023 is jumping around erratically — it went from 60% to 80% without charging.

Erratic percentage jumps happen because the coulomb counter in the 105 2023 is actively recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve during the first few cycles. It has not yet built an accurate model of how voltage maps to remaining capacity on this cell. Let the phone complete two full discharge-and-charge cycles without interruption. After that, the fuel gauge IC settles and percentage readings become consistent.

The Nokia 105 2023 feels warm near the battery while charging with the new BL-L5J — is that normal?

Mild warmth during the first few charges is expected. A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat while pushing current into it. The warmth should reduce noticeably after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charger disconnects before reaching 100%, stop charging and check the cable and charger output rating against Nokia's 5V spec.
