Fits Nokia Lumia 550, Lumia 730, Lumia 735 and replaces OEM part BL-T5A.
3.8V at 1900mAh delivers 7.22Wh to the processor, display, and modem stack.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single friction locking tab.
We ran a full charge cycle on a Lumia 550 test unit; the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell without errors.
On first use, run one complete discharge and charge without interruption to let the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell curve before the OS reports accurate remaining percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia Lumia 550 / Lumia 730 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-T5A)

This is a 3.8V, 1900mAh (7.22Wh) lithium-polymer cell for the Nokia Lumia 550, Lumia 730, Lumia 735, and Lumia 735 Dual SIM, among others. It replaces OEM part numbers BL-T5A and BV-T5A. If the original cell no longer holds charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly, this is a direct swap.

  • Lumia 550 / 730 / 735 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. At 82.40 × 40.00 × 5.20mm, the cell seats flush with no case pressure or connector misalignment.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Lumia 735. The BMS accepted charge from cold without triggering a protection cutoff, and the fuel gauge IC tracked cell voltage within normal tolerance across the full discharge curve.
  • First-cycle calibration tip: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before resuming fast charging. This gives the fuel gauge IC accurate data on the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins pushing into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running calculations based on the old cell's internal resistance profile. When the modem fires up for a call or the display peaks in brightness, the new cell's voltage dips below the shutdown threshold faster than the gauge predicts. The phone reads 25% but the actual cell voltage under load is already at the cutoff point. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these premature shutdowns.

Phone won't power on after sitting in storage with a flat battery

Lithium-polymer cells that discharge below roughly 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout to prevent cell damage. The phone shows nothing — no logo, no charging animation — because the protection circuit is open. Connect the phone to a wall adapter, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will slowly bring the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone should power on normally and show a low battery indicator.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lumia 730 shows the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new BL-T5A — it jumps from 40% straight to 5% and shuts off. What's causing that?

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. It doesn't yet know where the voltage cliff is on the new cell, so its percentage estimate collapses suddenly when load spikes. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets and percentage tracking stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my Lumia 550 after I put in the replacement battery — it only charges on slow charge now. Is something wrong with the new cell?

On the first cycle with a new cell, the charge controller can refuse the higher current rate because the BMS hasn't yet established a trusted handshake with the charger protocol. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge on slow charge, then disconnect and reconnect using your original Nokia charger. The fast-charge protocol should re-negotiate correctly on the second cycle.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell. Is that normal?

A new lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one. The charge IC compensates by running slightly higher voltage at the terminals, which generates more heat than you'd see on a broken-in cell. The warmth should reduce noticeably after three to four full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — switch to a slower 5W charger until the cell completes its break-in period.
