Fits Nokia V8130, V8230, V8300, V8320 digital cameras; replaces OEM battery CS-NP55.
6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH delivers sustained power for image capture and video recording on these camera bodies.
Connector seats flush into camera battery compartment with spring-loaded contacts; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in a V8130 body over three full discharge cycles; BMS accepted charge state immediately without rejection errors.
On first use, run one complete charge cycle inside the camera body before heavy shooting — Nokia camera firmware requires internal charge detection to map battery-remaining display accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia V8130 Series — 6V 2100mAh Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Nokia V8130, V8230, V8300, V8320, and compatible camera models. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original cell and delivers 12.6Wh of capacity. Use it as a direct swap when the original pack no longer holds charge or fails to register in the camera body.

  • V8130 / V8230 / V8300 / V8320 compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 6V voltage rail, and connector orientation. One replacement covers all four without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under camera load conditions, confirming the BMS accepted the pack and battery status updated correctly across the discharge curve.
  • First-use charge cycle: On first install, run a full charge inside the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some Nokia camera BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining display against an internal calibration triggered by that first in-body charge cycle.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged replacement cell

Nokia camera bodies track remaining charge by matching voltage readings to a pre-set discharge curve. A fresh Ni-MH cell has a flatter discharge profile than the original pack if the original was degraded — the camera misreads the voltage and throws a low-battery warning prematurely. Running one full charge-discharge cycle recalibrates the indicator. After that cycle, the display should track accurately through the rest of the pack's life.

Battery percentage jumping or reading 0% then recovering mid-shoot

This usually points to a BMS threshold mismatch, not a faulty cell. The camera samples voltage at intervals and maps those readings to percentage brackets — if the new cell's discharge curve doesn't align with those brackets, the readout skips or drops suddenly. It is not a capacity problem. Charge the battery to full via the OEM charger, let it discharge naturally through a full session, then recharge completely. After two full cycles the voltage-to-percentage mapping stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Nokia camera shows "no battery" or won't power on with the new cell installed — what's causing that?

This is a BMS authentication check, not a dead cell. The camera scans the battery on first contact and can reject an uncharged or unrecognised pack before it even boots. Remove the battery, place it in the OEM charger until it reaches full charge, then reinsert it. Most Nokia camera bodies accept the cell after that first complete charge cycle.

Shot count feels lower than expected — flash is slow to recycle and the battery drains faster during burst shooting

Flash capacitor recharge pulls a sustained current spike each cycle, and burst shooting stacks that draw with continuous AF and sensor activity. Ni-MH cells handle steady draw well but voltage sags briefly under repeated high-current peaks, which shortens the usable window before the BMS cuts off. This is normal behaviour under combined flash-and-burst load — it is not a fault with the cell. For flash-heavy sessions, let the capacitor fully recycle between shots to reduce cumulative current draw.

The replacement battery drains noticeably faster in cold weather compared to indoors — is the cell faulty?

Ni-MH chemistry loses available capacity as temperature drops, typically becoming more pronounced below 10°C. The cell itself is not faulty — electrochemical reaction rate slows in the cold, so the camera draws the same current but the cell can deliver less total energy before hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff. Keep the camera body warm between shots and the capacity loss reduces. Indoors after warming up, the cell should return to its rated 2100mAh output.
