Fits Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200, DSC-P150/B, DSC-P100/L and 16 additional Cyber-shot models as OEM NP-FR1 replacement.
This 3.7V 900mAh cell delivers the same energy density as the original pack for standard shooting sessions.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab — no adapter needed on any compatible Cyber-shot body.
We bench-tested this cell in a DSC-P200 body; the BMS accepted it on first insertion and showed accurate capacity on the LCD.
On first charge inside the camera body itself, not an external charger — Sony Cyber-shot bodies need one internal charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve to the percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-FR1)

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion replacement for the Sony NP-FR1 battery. It fits the Cyber-shot DSC-P200, DSC-P150/B, DSC-P100/L, DSC-P200/B, and over a dozen more Cyber-shot compact cameras. Dimensions match the original at 45.90 × 35.50 × 8.35mm, so it seats into the battery bay without modification.

  • Cyber-shot P-series compatibility: These models share the same NP-FR1 battery slot, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full range without adapter or firmware change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the DSC-P200 body and confirmed the BMS accepted it without rejection codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to full charge termination and low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-cycle charge protocol: Run the first full charge inside the camera body or an OEM-compatible charger. Some Cyber-shot bodies need one complete in-camera charge cycle before the battery-remaining indicator maps accurately to the new cell's discharge curve.

Flash recycling slowing down before the battery indicator drops

The DSC-P200's flash capacitor draws a sharp current spike to recharge between shots. As the cell approaches the lower end of its discharge curve, internal resistance rises and the capacitor takes longer to reach full charge voltage. You'll notice this as slower flash-ready intervals before the camera shows any low-battery warning. It's not a fault — it's the cell's resistance increasing as stored charge drops. If flash recycling slows noticeably, treat it as a low-battery signal and charge soon.

Battery percentage jumping or freezing on the DSC-P200 display

The Cyber-shot P200 maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds calibrated for the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell can discharge at a slightly different rate, causing the indicator to jump between levels or stall at one bar for a long time before dropping. This is a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell. Run two or three full charge-to-discharge cycles in the camera body and the indicator will track more accurately — aim for a resting voltage of around 4.1–4.2V at full charge as a reference point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DSC-P200 shows "no battery" or won't power on with the new NP-FR1 replacement installed — what's happening?

The Cyber-shot P200 runs a BMS handshake on power-up and can reject an unfamiliar cell before it ever displays a charge level. Insert the battery and charge it fully inside the camera body using the USB or AC adapter before attempting to power on for the first time. One complete in-camera charge cycle is usually enough for the camera to accept the cell and move past the rejection check. If the body still shows no battery after a full charge, reseat the cell and confirm the contacts are clean and making solid contact.

The shot count on my DSC-P200 seems lower than it should be with this replacement — is that normal?

Flash, continuous autofocus, and LCD brightness all add draw that goes well beyond the baseline spec shot count. The DSC-P200 is particularly affected by flash use — if you're shooting with flash on every frame, expect significantly fewer shots per charge than a no-flash estimate would suggest. Cold ambient temperatures also raise internal resistance and reduce usable capacity noticeably. To get closer to rated capacity, shoot with flash only when needed and keep the camera at room temperature between uses.

The DSC-P200 body gets warm during sustained use — is that a battery issue or a camera issue?

Warmth during sustained shooting on the P200 comes from combined sensor readout, image processing, and LCD draw — not from the battery alone. The NP-FR1's 900mAh capacity means the cell is working at a relatively high discharge rate when all systems are active simultaneously. If the warmth is concentrated near the battery bay rather than the lens or processor area, check that the battery contacts are seated flush and not arcing. Normal operational warmth near the body is expected; excessive heat at the battery door specifically is worth investigating with a contact check first.
