Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Novatel Wireless MiFi 2352 / MiFi 2372 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (40123108-00)
This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2352 and MiFi 2372 mobile hotspot. It slots into the same bay as the original 40123108-00 cell and uses the same three-contact connector. Capacity is rated at 4.07Wh — identical to the OEM spec.
- MiFi 2352 and 2372 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. The connector pinout and cell dimensions — 65.17 × 42.87 × 4.47mm — are identical across both units, which is why a single cell covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined modem and Wi-Fi load — four connected clients, active data transfer — and monitored the BMS cutoff thresholds. Voltage held steady through the discharge curve with no spurious low-voltage shutdowns during the session.
- Ventilation during extended hotspot sessions: When your hotspot is far from a cellular tower, the radio pushes to maximum transmit power. Keep the unit on an open surface rather than inside a bag or pocket during long sessions — trapped heat accelerates cell stress at the chemistry level.
Why the MiFi 2352 drops connected devices mid-session under heavy client load
When four or five devices are all pulling data simultaneously, the combined modem and Wi-Fi radio draw spikes sharply. An aged cell can't sustain the current without voltage sagging below the BMS protection floor — triggering a momentary shutdown even if the battery indicator still shows charge. This replacement cell has the same 1100mAh rating as the OEM unit, so the BMS threshold behaviour at load should match what the device expects. If drop-outs persist, reduce connected clients to two or three and check whether the issue disappears — that confirms a load-induced sag rather than a firmware fault.
MiFi 2352 won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month at room temperature. If a MiFi 2352 sits unused long enough, the cell can drop below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V — and the device simply won't respond to the power button. Plug it into a USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs a trickle charge cycle to bring the cell voltage back above the boot threshold. If the device still won't respond after that charge window, measure voltage at the battery terminals — a reading below 2.5V indicates the cell has passed recovery range and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MiFi 2352 keeps dropping Wi-Fi connections for all devices at the same time — could the battery be causing this?
Yes — when multiple clients pull data simultaneously, the combined modem and Wi-Fi radio load causes voltage sag in a degraded cell, tripping the BMS cutoff even if the charge indicator looks healthy. We reproduced this on the bench by connecting four clients under active transfer; a worn cell sagged below the protection threshold while a fresh 1100mAh cell held steady. Swap the battery first before chasing firmware or network settings. If drop-outs continue with the new cell, reduce active connections and retest.
The MiFi 2352 battery drains noticeably faster in some locations than others — what's going on?
Signal strength is the main variable. When the hotspot is in a weak coverage area, the cellular radio runs at maximum transmit power continuously, which draws significantly more current than in a strong-signal environment. The 1100mAh cell is the same capacity as OEM, so if drain is faster than expected, check the signal bar count — two bars or fewer means the radio is working hardest. Moving the hotspot closer to a window or higher in the room can cut radio power draw and extend use between charges.
The MiFi 2352 battery gets noticeably warm during long sessions — is that normal and does it damage the new cell?
Some heat is expected — the cellular radio and Wi-Fi chip both generate thermal output, and the compact housing has limited airflow. The concern is sustained heat above roughly 45°C, which accelerates lithium-ion cell degradation over time. Keep the unit on an open, flat surface rather than inside a bag or enclosed space during extended sessions. If the housing feels hot to the touch rather than just warm, check whether the hotspot is in a low-signal area — maximum radio output is the most common driver of abnormal heat.
