This 3.7V, 1350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Novatel Wireless MiFi 4510L, MiFi 4510L 4G LTE, MIFI451, and MiFi 3352 mobile hotspots. It fits the same battery bay and connects to the same BMS interface as the factory unit. Capacity is 1350mAh (5Wh), matching OEM spec.

  • MiFi 4510L and MiFi 3352 platform fit: These models share the same battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 65.80 × 43.60 × 5.00mm cell slides into either chassis without modification, and the BMS reads state-of-charge correctly across all listed variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined modem and Wi-Fi load — cellular radio active, four client devices connected. The BMS held stable voltage through the draw cycle with no low-voltage cutoff events during normal operation.
  • Signal environment tip: When the MiFi 4510L is in a weak cellular signal area, the modem boosts transmit power to maintain the connection. This raises heat output and current draw simultaneously. Position the hotspot near a window or external antenna source to reduce transmit load on the battery.

Why the MiFi 4510L drops connected devices mid-session

The MiFi 4510L runs two power-hungry subsystems at once — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio. When battery voltage sags under peak combined draw, the BMS can briefly throttle output to protect the cell. That momentary voltage dip causes the modem to reset, which drops all connected clients at the same time. A worn original battery accelerates this because its internal resistance is higher, so voltage sag under load is steeper and faster.

Hotspot shows "charging" but won't boot after sitting unused for weeks

Li-ion cells that discharge below roughly 2.5V enter a protection state where the BMS blocks normal boot to prevent cell damage. After extended storage with no charge, the MiFi 4510L will show a charging indicator but refuse to power on. Leave it on the charger for 20–30 minutes before attempting to boot — the BMS needs to see the cell recover above the minimum recovery threshold before it releases the power rails. If the device still won't boot after a full hour on charge, check that the charger output is at least 5V 1A.

My MiFi 4510L keeps disconnecting everyone on the network every few minutes — could the battery be causing this?

Yes — this is a voltage sag issue, not a Wi-Fi or firmware problem. When the cellular modem and Wi-Fi radio both run at peak draw simultaneously, a degraded battery can't hold voltage steady, and the BMS briefly cuts output to protect the cell. That reset drops all connected clients at once. Replace the battery and keep connected device count below four in weak signal areas to reduce combined radio load.

Battery drains noticeably faster when I'm in a building versus outside — why?

Inside buildings, the MiFi 4510L can't get a strong cellular signal, so the modem increases transmit power to maintain the connection. Maximum transmit power draws significantly more current than a normal signal-strength session. This isn't a battery fault — it's the radio working harder. Move the hotspot closer to a window or external signal source to bring transmit power back down and reduce the drain rate.

The MiFi 4510L sat in a drawer for two months and now it just shows a blinking light and won't turn on even with the charger plugged in.

The battery discharged below the BMS minimum threshold during storage, and the protection circuit is now blocking boot. Plug in a 5V 1A charger and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button — the BMS needs time to trickle the cell back above the recovery voltage before it will allow the device to start. After 30 minutes, hold the power button for a full five seconds to attempt boot.
