Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo A83 Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP649)
This is a 3.85V, 3100mAh (11.94Wh) Li-Polymer cell that replaces part number BLP649 in the Oppo A83 smartphone. It fits the A83, A83t, A83 2018 Dual SIM, and A83 2018 Dual SIM TD-LTE. Install it when the original cell no longer holds adequate charge through a normal day of use.
- A83 series compatibility: The A83, A83t, and 2018 Dual SIM variants all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BLP649 part number — the BMS handshake protocol is identical across these models, so one cell covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an A83 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC reached termination voltage cleanly at 4.35V with no thermal trip.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle on standard 5V charging. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the A83 after a cell swap
The A83 fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old degraded cell in its coulomb counter. When voltage drops under modem or screen load, the new cell hits a steeper voltage cliff than the IC expects, triggering an emergency cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. This is a calibration mismatch — not a faulty cell. One complete discharge cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge without interruption, resets the counter to the new cell's actual curve.
USB fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
On the first charge after a cell swap, the A83 charge IC may stay in trickle or standard mode rather than engaging Oppo's VOOC fast-charge handshake. This happens because the BMS flags the new cell as unknown until it completes one full charge cycle and logs a baseline capacity reading. Let the phone charge fully on standard current first — do not interrupt it. After that initial cycle, fast charging re-engages automatically on subsequent charges without any settings change.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Oppo A83 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the A83 is still reading the discharge curve it learned from the old degraded cell, so it miscalculates the voltage cliff on the new one and cuts power early. Run one uninterrupted discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully to 100% without disconnecting. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage jumps erratically — it was at 40%, then suddenly showed 12% without any heavy use.
Erratic percentage jumps on the A83 come from the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell impedance — it loses confidence in its state-of-charge estimate and makes large corrections. This is most common in the first two or three cycles after a replacement. Complete two full discharge-to-charge cycles on standard 5V charging without fast charge enabled. The IC stabilises its estimate once it has logged enough data points against the new cell's voltage curve.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area while charging the new cell — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth during the first few charges is normal with a new Li-Polymer cell. A fresh cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat while pushing current through it. If the phone stays warm but not hot — below the point where it throttles the screen — let it complete the charge. After two or three full cycles the impedance drops and the warmth during charging reduces noticeably. If the phone displays an overheating warning or halts charging, check that the replacement is seated flat with no pressure on the cell body.
