Replaces CPLD-390 battery for Coolpad Catalyst 3622A smartphone.
3.7V, 2200mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full operating voltage to the phone's processor and modem circuits.
Connector slides into the battery slot with the contact tab facing the phone's charging port side.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the bench — the BMS held 3.7V stable until final 5% cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad Catalyst 3622A — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CPLD-390)

This is a 3.7V, 2200mAh lithium-polymer cell built to the CPLD-390 specification. It fits the Coolpad Catalyst 3622A smartphone. Voltage and form factor match the original — dimensions are 71.00 x 52.98 x 5.00mm, so the cell seats flush in the battery bay.

  • Catalyst 3622A fitment: The 3622A uses a fixed connector pinout tied to a basic fuel gauge IC. This replacement carries the same pin configuration and impedance profile, so the charge IC recognises it without a handshake error on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 3622A unit. The BMS accepted the cell, held voltage above 3.5V under display and modem load, and showed no unexpected cutoff during the test runs.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging if available and run one full discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This gives the fuel gauge IC one clean reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before the OS starts reporting percentage from it.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it mapped on the old, degraded cell. A fresh cell with higher energy density hits a different voltage cliff point than the IC expects. The phone interprets the voltage drop under modem or screen load as a critical low-battery condition and shuts down — even though real charge remains. One complete discharge-to-shutoff and full recharge cycle resets the coulomb counter and corrects the curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If this cell dropped below 2.5V, the BMS may have entered lockout mode to prevent over-discharge damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs time to push a recovery trickle current through the BMS lockout threshold. Once the cell climbs back above 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone should power on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Coolpad Catalyst 3622A shows 25% battery then shuts off immediately — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the 3622A is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the voltage cliff on a fresh cell and triggers an early shutdown. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% in a single uninterrupted session. That one cycle resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns at 20–30% stop.

The battery percentage on my 3622A jumps around erratically after I fitted this replacement — sometimes it skips from 60% to 40% in seconds.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration problem, not a cell defect. The IC is interpolating state-of-charge from a curve built on the old cell, and the mismatch causes it to jump readings as load current changes. Complete two full discharge-to-shutoff and uninterrupted full-charge cycles. By the second cycle, the coulomb counter has enough data points on the new cell to report percentage steadily.

My 3622A feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell for the first time — should I stop?

Mild warmth on the first charge is normal. A new lithium-polymer cell typically has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled cell, and the charge IC pushes current into that resistance, generating some heat. If the phone stays warm but not hot — below the point where it's uncomfortable to hold — let it complete the charge. If it gets too hot to hold or the charger trips out, disconnect and check that you're using a 5V wall adapter, not a higher-voltage USB-PD brick, to keep charge current within the 3622A's intended input spec.
