Fits Oppo A96 and CPH2333 — replaces OEM battery BLP885.
3.87V, 4850mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge cycles on the A96 after degradation.
Connector mates flush to the A96 battery slot with no adapter — standard smartphone contact alignment.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell voltage curve without lockout.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell's discharge profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo A96 / CPH2333 — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP885)

The BLP885 is a 3.87V, 4850mAh lithium-polymer cell that fits the Oppo A96 (CPH2333) smartphone. It slots into the internal battery bay and restores full power to calls, apps, and multimedia functions. Capacity figure matches the product specification at 18.77Wh.

  • A96 and CPH2333 fitment: Both are the same hardware revision sold under different regional SKUs. They share an identical battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on CPH2333 hardware. The BMS accepted the handshake on the first connection, charge current ramped correctly through CC and CV phases, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% on standard 5V input. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging is introduced.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Oppo A96 after a cell swap

This is a voltage-cliff failure, not a capacity problem. When the modem transmits or the screen runs at full brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell that hasn't been calibrated causes the fuel gauge IC to misread state-of-charge, and the phone cuts power to protect the cell before it's actually empty. One full discharge-charge cycle on standard current — not VOOC — lets the coulomb counter build an accurate map of the new cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% stop.

VOOC fast charge not accepted on the first cycle after replacement

Oppo's VOOC protocol requires the charge IC and BMS to negotiate before elevated current is allowed. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS may reject that handshake on the first cycle because its internal state registers are not yet populated with valid charge history. Plug the phone into a standard 5V/2A charger — not the VOOC adapter — and complete a full charge to 100%. On the next charge session, connect the VOOC adapter and the handshake will complete normally, restoring fast charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Oppo A96 feels warm near the bottom of the phone while charging the new battery — is that normal?

A new lithium-polymer cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat during the first few cycles. That warmth near the charge port area is the charge IC working, not the cell itself overheating. It reduces noticeably after three to five full cycles as internal impedance drops. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, stop charging and check that the charge port is clean and making full contact.

The battery percentage on my A96 jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then skips to 45% a few minutes later.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve. The old calibration data stored in the coulomb counter was mapped to the worn original cell — it doesn't match the new BLP885's voltage profile. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% on a standard charger without interruption. That single cycle gives the IC enough data to anchor its percentage readings accurately, and the jumping stops.

My A96 won't power on at all after the new BLP885 sat in a drawer for a few months before installation.

Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell during that time, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charging to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a low-current 5V charger — not a fast charger — and leave it for 30 to 60 minutes without pressing the power button. The BMS recovery circuit trickle-charges the cell back above the lockout threshold, after which normal charging resumes and the phone powers on.
