Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo R17 Pro / CPH1877 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP679)
The BLP679 is a 7.4V, 1400mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Oppo R17 Pro smartphone (CPH1877 / RX17 Pro). It replaces the original internal battery when the existing cell can no longer hold charge or has swollen. Capacity figures come directly from product data — 10.36Wh total.
- R17 Pro / RX17 Pro / CPH1877 fitment: These model numbers share the same physical battery bay dimensions (78.77 × 61.52 × 4.80mm), the same flex connector layout, and the same BMS handshake voltage thresholds — one cell fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and discharge on a CPH1877 unit, confirmed BMS communication was accepted by the PMIC, and verified that charge termination voltage hit the correct 8.4V cutoff without error flags in the charge IC log.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable VOOC fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins — skipping this step causes the OS to read inaccurate percentages for the first several days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff at lower states of charge — the modem or display pulls current, voltage drops fast, and the PMIC trips a low-voltage cutoff before the gauge registers empty. One full discharge-to-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the coulomb counter to reset against the new curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at partial charge typically stop.
VOOC fast charge not activating after replacement
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC negotiates VOOC protocol against a new BMS it has no history with. Some units stay in standard 5V charging on that first cycle as a precaution. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is the charge controller being cautious with an uncalibrated cell. Run one standard charge cycle to completion, then reconnect the VOOC adapter. Fast charge handshake completes correctly on the second cycle in most cases.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Oppo R17 Pro won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
A cell stored below 2.5V per cell (5.0V combined for a 2S pack like the BLP679) triggers BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects output to prevent damage. The phone shows nothing because the BMS is blocking current, not because the cell is dead. Connect it to a 5V charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the lockout threshold, then BMS releases and the phone boots. If the charge LED never lights after 30 minutes, check the flex connector is fully seated.
The battery percentage on my R17 Pro jumps around — it reads 45%, then skips to 28% a few minutes later without heavy use.
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. After a cell swap, the coulomb counter has no accurate baseline for the new cell's capacity or voltage-to-charge relationship. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted back to 100% without unplugging early. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full curve to map against, and erratic percentage jumps stop after that cycle.
The R17 Pro gets noticeably warm near the back panel during charging on the new BLP679 — is that a fault?
A new lithium-polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled dozens of times. The charge IC pushes the same current into a higher-resistance cell, and the extra energy dissipates as heat. This is most pronounced on the first three to five charge cycles and reduces as the cell conditions. If warmth is moderate — uncomfortable to touch but not painful — it is within normal range for a new cell. If the back panel becomes hot enough to prompt a system overheat warning on-screen, disconnect and check that the battery flex connector is making full contact without any lift at the edges.
