Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo Reno5 Pro / Reno5 Pro 5G — 7.74V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP823)
This is a 7.74V, 2100mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Oppo Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro 5G (models CPH2201, PDST00). It replaces OEM part BLP823 and fits the same internal cavity at 91.10 × 62.40 × 4.70mm. Swap it when your original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro 5G compatibility: Both CPH2201 and PDST00 variants use the same BLP823 cell, voltage rail, flex connector, and BMS handshake — the 5G modem draws higher peak current, but the battery architecture is identical across both models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Reno5 Pro unit and confirmed the BMS negotiates correctly with Oppo's charge IC — full charge acceptance was achieved and no false cutoff events were triggered under sustained load.
- First-cycle recalibration on the Reno5 Pro: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes power into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Reno5 Pro after a cell swap
The Reno5 Pro's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell arrives with a different impedance profile, the gauge miscalculates remaining charge. Under modem or screen load, voltage drops below the system cutoff threshold before the percentage display reaches zero. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its model against the new cell.
VOOC fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
Oppo's VOOC protocol requires a successful BMS authentication handshake before the charge IC allows high-current delivery. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS may default to standard 5V/1A charging on the first cycle while it verifies the cell parameters. This is not a fault — it clears after the first complete charge. If VOOC still fails to activate after two full cycles, confirm the flex connector is fully seated, as a partial connection breaks the data line the charge IC uses for protocol negotiation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Reno5 Pro shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new BLP823 — is the battery faulty?
The battery itself is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Reno5 Pro is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads where the voltage cliff sits on the new cell. Under the load of the 5G modem or the display, actual cell voltage drops below the system cutoff before the screen reads zero. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge with fast charging disabled — the coulomb counter resets against the new curve and the early shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my Reno5 Pro is jumping around erratically after the replacement — it went from 60% to 41% in two minutes without heavy use.
That erratic behaviour is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a cell it has no stored data for. The coulomb counter accumulated error over the life of the old battery and that model does not apply to the new cell's impedance. Two to three full discharge-charge cycles — without fast charging on the first one — give the IC enough data points to settle. Once recalibration is complete, percentage drops will track actual discharge linearly again.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a well-conditioned one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few cycles. This is normal and tapers off as the cell beds in. If the warmth is uncomfortable to hold or the phone throttles performance, switch to a standard 5V charger for the first two full cycles to reduce charge current. After that the impedance drops and heat during charging returns to normal levels.
