Fits Optus E5377 mobile hotspot; replaces OEM battery for this model.
3.7V 1700mAh lithium-ion pack delivers the rated capacity this hotspot needs for full-day portable Wi-Fi sharing without voltage sag under dual modem-plus-radio load.
Connector slides straight into the E5377 battery compartment with single mechanical latch; orientation marked on housing.
We bench-tested this cell under sustained WiFi broadcast load at maximum concurrent connections — BMS held voltage stable, no early cutoff, thermal climb within spec.
On first full charge cycle, keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated area during extended sessions; the cellular radio draws peak power when devices are distant, generating heat that stresses a fresh battery faster than rated use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Optus E5377 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V 1700mAh lithium-ion battery for the Optus E5377 portable Wi-Fi hotspot. It restores power capacity when the original cell has degraded and the device no longer holds a usable charge. Dimensions are 65.10 × 45.70 × 5.30mm — confirm these match your existing battery before fitting.

  • E5377 hotspot platform: The E5377 runs a combined cellular modem and multi-device Wi-Fi radio from a single cell. Both radios draw simultaneously, so the battery must handle sustained current draw rather than short bursts. This cell meets that voltage and footprint requirement.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under simultaneous modem and Wi-Fi load. The BMS held voltage without dropping into protective cutoff, and charge acceptance on a standard USB source was clean with no thermal flags.
  • Ventilation during long sessions: When connected devices are at range or signal is weak, the cellular radio runs at maximum output power. Place the hotspot on an open surface — not inside a bag or pocket — during extended sessions to stop heat building at the battery.

Why the E5377 drops connections mid-session under maximum device load

The E5377 manages two simultaneous RF loads — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi access point. When five or more client devices are active, combined current draw spikes sharply. If the battery cell cannot sustain that draw, voltage sags briefly below the BMS threshold and the hotspot cuts power to the modem to protect the cell. The result is a sudden disconnect for all connected users, even though the device appears to still be on. A fresh cell with full capacity handles these draw spikes without the voltage sag that triggers the cutoff.

E5377 won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the E5377 sat unused long enough, the battery may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V — and the BMS will block startup to prevent cell damage. Plugging in a charger and leaving it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on gives the BMS enough charge to re-enable the output circuit. If the device powers on during charging but not on battery alone, the cell has degraded past recovery and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My E5377 keeps dropping all connected devices mid-session even though the battery shows charged — what's happening?

This is a voltage sag issue, not a charge level issue. When multiple devices are active simultaneously, the combined modem and Wi-Fi draw pulls current faster than a degraded cell can supply it, causing a brief voltage drop that triggers the BMS to cut modem power. The hotspot stays on but loses cellular — so every connected device drops at once. Replace the cell and the BMS will have enough headroom to handle those draw spikes without cutting out.

The E5377 battery drains much faster when I'm in an area with poor signal — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty — this is normal cellular radio behaviour. In weak signal areas, the E5377's modem runs at maximum transmit power continuously trying to maintain a connection, which draws significantly more current than it would in a strong signal area. That increased draw depletes the 1700mAh cell faster than the rated figure, which assumes average signal conditions. Moving the hotspot closer to a window or elevated position reduces transmit power and slows the drain.

My E5377 won't turn on at all after replacing the battery — it just shows nothing when I press the power button.

A new cell shipped in storage state may sit below 3.0V — too low for the BMS to allow the device to boot. Connect the E5377 to a charger and leave it for at least 20 minutes before pressing the power button. The BMS needs to register a minimum threshold voltage before it will release power to the boot circuit. If the device powers on while plugged in but not on battery alone, check the battery connector seating — the cell may not be making full contact with the contacts.
