Fits Orbic Journey smartphone, replaces OEM battery part number BTE-1400.
3.7V and 1300mAh capacity restores full runtime for calls, messaging, and apps on your device.
Connector type is proprietary Orbic contact pad—insert straight down and seat firmly until the locking clip engages.
We bench tested this cell on a Journey RC2200L unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes or delayed voltage ramp.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Orbic Journey RC2200L — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTE-1400)

This 3.7V 1300mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original BTE-1400 cell in the Orbic Journey, Journey V, RC2200L, and ORB2200LBVZPP. It restores full power to the phone when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. Voltage and capacity match factory specifications exactly.

  • Journey and Journey V platform fit: The RC2200L, Journey V, and ORB2200LBVZPP all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell covers the entire lineup. The 57.30 × 42.80 × 4.84mm form factor seats flush without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Journey platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the protection circuit tripped as expected under overcurrent conditions.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After installing this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve. Running a slow cycle first prevents the IC from locking in an inaccurate baseline that causes percentage errors later.

Why the Orbic Journey reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Journey's fuel gauge IC builds its percentage model from the previous cell's discharge curve stored in memory. A new cell has a different internal resistance and a slightly different voltage-capacity slope. The IC does not automatically erase the old curve on installation. Until you complete one full discharge down to automatic shutdown and a full charge back to 100%, the percentage reading can sit 10–20% off reality.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem's minimum rail during an LTE burst or screen wake. The phone shows 25% but the cell cannot sustain voltage under that instantaneous load. The BMS reads this as an undervoltage event and cuts output to protect the cell. Charge the phone to 100%, run one slow full discharge without fast charging, and let the fuel gauge IC resync — this shifts the shutdown threshold to align with the new cell's actual voltage cliff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Orbic Journey won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Likely not dead — the BMS has locked out below 2.5V per cell after self-discharge in storage. Plug the phone into a wall charger (not a computer USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point normal charging resumes. If the charge LED does not appear within 45 minutes, try a different cable and adapter to rule out a current-limited source.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting the replacement battery — what happened?

The USB-PD handshake between the charge IC and the charger can fail on the first cycle when the BMS reports a new, uncalibrated cell. The charger defaults to standard 5V/0.5A as a safety fallback. Disconnect, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect — the handshake retries and usually accepts the fast-charge contract on the second attempt. If it still does not switch to fast charging, complete one full standard-speed charge cycle first, then retest with the fast charger.

The battery percentage on my Journey jumps around erratically — sometimes it drops 15% in seconds, then climbs back up.

The coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and has not yet established a stable internal model. This is normal for the first two to three cycles after a cell swap. Run the phone from 100% down to auto-shutdown twice without interrupting the discharge mid-cycle. After the second full cycle, the IC locks in the new curve and the percentage reading stabilises.
