Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panametrics PT900 — 7.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ND2057HD24)
This 7.2V 6600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the factory pack in the Panametrics PT900 portable ultrasonic flow meter. It fits the PT900 transit-time measurement unit used for pipeline fluid velocity surveys, custody transfer checks, and process diagnostics in the field. Capacity is 6600mAh (47.52Wh), matching the original specification.
- PT900 platform fit: The PT900 draws power across a shared connector and BMS handshake protocol common to all ND2057-series packs. Replacement packs carrying any ND2057 variant designation — including ND2057HD26, ND2057HD29, ND2057RC24, and RRC2057 — use the same voltage rail and cell configuration, which is why they cross to this SKU.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through PT900 cold-start cycles and sustained transducer-active logging sessions. The BMS held stable across probe initialisation spikes and did not trip during back-to-back measurement sequences.
- First deployment after install: After fitting this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the PT900 instrument menu before heading into the field. The PT900 maps battery state during that calibration pass — skipping it causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session, even with a fully charged pack.
BMS cutoff at probe initialisation on the PT900
When the PT900 powers up its transducer module, it draws a short current spike as the probe circuit energises. A battery with degraded cells or an over-cautious BMS threshold reads this spike as an overload and cuts output before the instrument reaches its first measurement screen. This pack's BMS is rated to handle that initialisation surge without tripping. If the instrument still cuts out at probe power-up, check that the transducer cable connector is seated fully — a partial connection increases inrush current and can push even a healthy pack over threshold.
PT900 won't recognise a new pack after months in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If a pack sits unused long enough, cell voltage drops below the BMS recovery threshold and the pack enters a protective sleep state — the PT900 sees no communication from the battery and refuses to boot. Connect the pack to the PT900 charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on the instrument; most BMS circuits recover from sleep once the charger applies a trickle above 6.0V. If the charger LED does not respond within that window, disconnect and reconnect — some RRC2057-type BMS units require a re-trigger to exit deep-discharge lockout.

Frequently Asked Questions
My PT900 shuts off mid-measurement without any warning — battery shows full when I power back on. What's happening?
This is a voltage sag fault, not a capacity fault. Under sustained transducer load, a weakened cell group drops below the BMS cutoff threshold for a split second, triggering shutdown — but the pack recovers to resting voltage almost immediately, so the display shows a normal charge level at reboot. The PT900's indicator reads resting voltage, not load voltage, so it can't detect the sag directly. Replace the pack and confirm the new cell voltage holds above 7.0V under active measurement load.
My PT900 is logging flow data and the readings reset or jump to zero partway through a session — is this a battery issue?
Yes — intermittent voltage dropout under sustained sensor draw can cause the PT900's processor to reset mid-log, wiping the active session buffer. This is different from a full shutdown; the instrument may appear to keep running but the measurement thread restarts. Check the battery contacts in the compartment for corrosion or debris causing momentary disconnection under vibration. If contacts are clean, the pack's cells are likely unable to sustain steady output across a full logging session — fitting a fresh pack resolves it.
The PT900 powers on normally but shuts down as soon as I start a USB data transfer to a laptop. What causes that?
USB transfer adds a second load path on top of the active instrument draw — the PT900's processor, display backlight, and USB controller all pull current simultaneously during export. A marginal pack that handles normal measurement load cannot sustain the combined draw and the BMS trips. This is a known combined-draw failure mode on the PT900 platform. Charge the replacement pack fully before attempting transfer, and confirm charger output reaches 8.4V at end of charge before disconnecting.
