Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic AG3 / AGBP15 / AGEZ1U Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 6V 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Panasonic professional camcorders including the AG3, AGBP15, AGEZ1U, and AGEZ20, among 135 additional compatible models. It matches the original voltage rail and physical form factor for these video production units. Capacity is 12.6Wh as rated — sourced to match the OEM specification, not exceed it.
- AG3 / AGEZ series platform fit: These models share the same 6V power architecture and battery compartment dimensions. The connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol are consistent across the range, so one cell works across the group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on camcorder hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and voltage held within spec throughout the discharge curve under continuous video load.
- First-use charge cycle for camcorder BMS acceptance: Perform the first full charge through the OEM charger or camera body before shooting. Some Panasonic camcorder BMS systems require one internal charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator accurately against a new cell's discharge curve.
Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged replacement cell
Panasonic camcorder bodies map battery percentage against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new Ni-MH replacement has a slightly different discharge profile, so the body's threshold check can read a partially charged cell as empty. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault with the cell. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camcorder to let the BMS remap its thresholds against the new cell's actual voltage curve.
Battery percentage jumping erratically during recording
Ni-MH cells have a flatter discharge curve than Li-ion, which makes voltage-based percentage gauges less precise — especially mid-charge where the voltage plateau is narrow. The camcorder body reads small voltage dips under record load as large capacity drops, then corrects upward when load eases. This produces the jumping readout. It does not affect actual capacity delivered. After two full charge cycles, the BMS recalibrates and the display stabilises around a consistent voltage reference point near 5.4V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Panasonic camcorder shows a dead battery icon the moment I insert the new cell — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The camcorder's BMS compares the resting voltage of a new cell against thresholds set for the aged original, and a fresh Ni-MH cell at storage charge can sit just below the acceptance threshold. Place the battery in the OEM charger and run a full charge cycle first — do not insert it directly into the body off the shelf. After one full charge, reinsert and the indicator should clear.
The battery percentage on my AG3 jumps from 60% to 10% and back again mid-shoot — what's causing that?
The AG3's percentage display is voltage-threshold based, and Ni-MH cells have a very flat discharge curve with a steep drop at the end. Under record load, voltage briefly dips into a lower threshold band, triggering the percentage drop — then recovers when the load eases. We saw this behaviour on the bench during the first cycle. After two full charge-discharge cycles the BMS recalibrates its reference points and the readout stabilises.
My replacement battery depletes noticeably faster when shooting in cold conditions — is that normal for this cell?
Yes, and it is specific to Ni-MH chemistry. Ni-MH cells lose available capacity at temperatures below around 10°C because internal resistance rises as electrolyte conductivity drops. A cell that reads full capacity at room temperature will deliver less usable energy at 5°C or below. Keep the spare battery in an inside jacket pocket between swaps to maintain cell temperature, and expect reduced capacity until the cell warms to above 15°C during use.
