Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung NBE60 / NC240 / SCA Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 6V, 2100mAh (12.6Wh) Ni-MH replacement battery for Samsung digital cameras including the NBE60, NC240, SCA12, and SCA20, plus 61 additional compatible models. It matches the original cell's voltage and chemistry, slotting into the battery compartment without modification. Capacity figures are taken directly from product data — not estimated from third-party sources.
- NBE60, NC240, and SCA-series compatibility: These models share the same 6V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell spec covers the full group without adaptation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on camera-compatible equipment. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and voltage held stable across the discharge curve under standard shooting draw.
- First charge via OEM charger or camera body: Some Samsung camera BMS systems require the initial charge to originate inside the camera body or OEM charger — not a third-party dock — to calibrate the battery-remaining display correctly. Run one full charge cycle this way before heavy use.
Camera showing dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
Samsung camera battery indicators map voltage thresholds to a percentage or icon scale calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new Ni-MH cell often sits at a mid-point charge when it arrives, not a full charge. The camera reads the voltage, compares it against its internal map, and flags it as critically low or dead — even though the cell has usable capacity remaining. Run one full charge cycle in the camera body or OEM charger first; the indicator should read accurately from around 7.4V at full charge down through the discharge range.
Flash not fully recycling between shots after extended use
Flash recycle time depends on the capacitor recharging quickly between frames, which draws a sharp current spike from the battery. As the cell approaches the end of its charge, internal resistance climbs and the current available for capacitor recharge drops. This shows up as longer recycle gaps and, eventually, noticeably dimmer flash output. If recycle time increases mid-shoot, check the battery voltage — below approximately 5.4V under load, the cell cannot sustain full capacitor recharge current and should be swapped or recharged before continuing.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Samsung NC240 shows "no battery" or flashes a warning when I insert this replacement — is the cell faulty?
This is a BMS authentication check in the camera body, not a fault with the cell itself. Samsung camera bodies sometimes reject a new third-party cell on first insert because the battery hasn't completed an initial charge handshake. Place the battery in the OEM charger or in the camera body connected to mains and run one complete charge cycle. After that first full charge, the camera should recognise and accept the cell normally.
The battery percentage on my SCA20 jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then drops to 10% without warning. What's going on?
The camera's percentage display is mapped to voltage thresholds calibrated for the original factory cell's discharge curve. A new Ni-MH replacement cell discharges along a slightly different curve, so the camera misreads the remaining capacity at certain voltage points. This is a display calibration issue, not a capacity fault. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body; the indicator will stabilise as the BMS learns the actual discharge profile of the new cell.
My shot count on the NBE60 is noticeably lower than the rated figure — flash, continuous AF, and video all seem to drain it faster. Is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong — rated shot counts are measured under controlled conditions using single-shot capture with minimal flash and no video. In real-world use, each flash recycle, continuous autofocus burst, and video recording segment adds current draw beyond that baseline. Combined, these loads can cut the effective shot count significantly compared to the published figure. Reduce flash frequency or switch AF to single-shot mode for non-action subjects, and the cell will last considerably longer between charges.
