Fits Panasonic EW-1513, EW-DJ31, EW-DJ66, and EW-DJ26 electric toothbrushes replacing the original 3.6V internal cell.
This 3.6V 680mAh Li-ion cell delivers the voltage and capacity needed to restore full oscillation speed to your toothbrush motor.
The battery installs vertically into the handle cavity with a single connector pin — alignment is straightforward with no locking tab.
We bench tested this cell on the EW-1513 charging base; the BMS accepted full charge in under 2 hours with no fault codes.
Remove the toothbrush from the charging base immediately after it reaches full charge — leaving it docked continuously triggers trickle charging that degrades this cell's capacity far faster than partial-cycle use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic EW-1513 / EW-DJ Series — 3.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 680mAh Li-ion cell for the Panasonic EW-1513, EW-DJ31, EW-DJ66, and EW-DJ26 electric toothbrushes. It replaces the internal battery when the original cell can no longer hold a charge. Swapping this cell restores full brush motor speed and normal charging behaviour on the inductive base.

  • EW-1513 and EW-DJ series compatibility: These four models share the same 3.6V single-cell architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same physical cell format — 56 × 14 × 14mm. The BMS handshake on each model expects the same voltage window, so one cell covers the group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on the inductive base. The BMS accepted the cell without error, voltage held steady under motor load, and the charge indicator behaved normally through each stage.
  • Dock charging discipline: Remove the toothbrush from the charging base once full and only return it when the cell is below 30%. The base delivers a continuous trickle charge when the brush sits on it idle — this accelerates capacity fade on a Li-ion cell far faster than regular partial-charge cycling does.

Electric toothbrush losing brushing power before the battery indicator shows low

Li-ion cells in toothbrushes age unevenly — internal resistance climbs before usable capacity visibly drops. When the brush motor fires, it draws a short current spike. A high-resistance cell sags under that load, dropping voltage enough to reduce motor speed even though the indicator still reads charged. The cell is delivering less current than the motor needs, not less total energy. Replacing the cell with a fresh 3.6V unit eliminates the sag and restores full oscillation speed from the first stroke.

Toothbrush not charging on the inductive base after a new battery is fitted

Inductive charging on the EW-DJ series is alignment-sensitive — the coil in the brush handle must sit directly over the base coil to couple correctly. If the brush head is not fully pressed down onto the base post, the coils are offset and transfer drops sharply. Check that the handle seats flush with no gap between brush and base. Once correctly seated, the charge indicator should activate within a few seconds and the cell should read above 3.7V after a full charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Panasonic EW-DJ31 brush motor feels weaker than usual even though the battery just charged — what's happening?

Voltage sag under motor load is the cause. As a Li-ion cell ages, internal resistance rises, and the motor's current draw pulls the cell voltage below the threshold the motor needs to run at full speed — even when the cell still reads as charged at rest. The fix is a new cell. A fresh 3.6V 680mAh cell will hold voltage steady under the motor's load spike and restore full brush speed.

The brush head on my EW-1513 is vibrating weakly for the first few uses after fitting a new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. A new Li-ion cell needs two to three full charge and discharge cycles before the BMS calibrates its charge window correctly. On the first cycle, the BMS may limit current delivery slightly until it maps the cell's actual capacity. Run the brush until the low indicator activates, charge it fully on the base, and repeat — brushing power normalises by the third cycle.

After leaving my EW-DJ66 on the charging base for several days, it seems to hold less charge than before — why?

Continuous trickle charging from the inductive base is the cause. When the cell reaches full charge and the brush stays on the base, the charger delivers a small maintenance current indefinitely. Li-ion cells degrade faster under sustained low-level charging than they do under regular partial cycles. Remove the brush from the base once it reaches full charge and only return it when the cell drops below roughly 30% — this is the single most effective way to slow capacity fade on this cell.
