Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic EY3760B Series — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EY9L60)
This is a 21.6V, 4000mAh Li-ion battery pack replacing the OEM EY9L60, EY9L60B, EY9L61B, and EZ9L61 units. It fits the Panasonic EY3760B cordless impact driver and compatible EY7460 series models. The 86.4Wh rating keeps the pack in the same energy class as the factory unit.
- EY3760B and EY7460 series compatibility: These models share a common 21.6V rail, the same battery connector footprint, and a matching BMS handshake protocol — so one pack covers the full lineup without adapter or firmware changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated high-torque trigger pulls on an EY7460 spindle. The BMS held steady through motor-start inrush spikes and did not trip into overcurrent cutoff under sustained fastening loads.
- Impact driver break-in procedure: On first use, run the tool at half torque for two full cycles before pushing maximum fastening loads. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent thresholds before you hit structural fixings.
BMS overcurrent trip on trigger-pull inrush surge
Impact drivers draw a short, sharp current spike the moment the motor starts — often two to three times the steady-state draw. A new or freshly charged pack has tight overcurrent thresholds until the BMS has seen several real load cycles. If the pack shuts down on the first hard trigger pull, it is not a faulty cell — the BMS has not yet calibrated to this motor's inrush signature. Run two light-load cycles first, and the threshold self-adjusts to allow normal operation.
Charger shows blinking red on a pack that sat in storage
Li-ion cells drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — after several months without use. Most Panasonic chargers refuse to charge below this floor and signal the problem with a blinking or solid red LED. The fix is a brief pre-charge pulse: leave the pack on the charger for 20–30 minutes without removing it, and most chargers will step through a recovery mode automatically. If the red light persists beyond 30 minutes, check individual cell voltage — any cell reading under 2.0V needs replacement before charging continues.

Frequently Asked Questions
My EY3760B cuts out instantly when I pull the trigger hard — is the battery dead or is something else going on?
That instant cutoff is the BMS tripping on motor-start inrush current, not a dead cell. The spike on trigger pull can exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold, especially on a new or recently recharged pack. Run the tool at half load for two full cycles to let the BMS profile the motor draw before it locks in its cutoff point. After that conditioning, the pack should handle full-torque trigger pulls without dropping out.
The impact driver feels weak and bogs down halfway through driving a lag screw — what causes that?
Voltage sag under sustained high-torque load is the usual cause. As current draw rises, internal resistance in the cells creates a voltage drop across the pack — the tool sees lower rail voltage and loses torque. Check the battery terminal contacts on both the pack and the tool for oxidation or debris; even 0.1Ω of extra contact resistance amplifies sag significantly. Clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol, reseat the pack firmly, and confirm the resting voltage reads at least 23V before the next use.
The EY3760B runs noticeably weaker in cold weather — is the battery damaged?
No damage — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver without sagging. Store and charge the pack indoors at room temperature before heading out, and keep a second pack in a jacket pocket while the first is in use. Once the cells warm up from normal operation, performance returns to the expected level. If weakness persists at normal temperatures, check resting voltage — a pack that reads below 21V at rest after a full charge has begun to lose capacity and needs replacement.
