Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ6 / TZ7 / ZR1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DMW-BCG10)
This is a 3.7V, 890mAh lithium-ion replacement cell for the Panasonic DMW-BCG10 battery pack. It fits the Lumix DMC-TZ6, TZ7, ZR1, ZR1A, and over 100 additional Lumix compact camera models. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly.
- TZ6, TZ7, and ZR1 series compatibility: These Lumix compacts share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — that is why one cell covers the full platform. The DMW-BCG10 form factor is consistent across all three lines.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the camera body charger and a standalone OEM-spec charger. The BMS accepted the cell on both paths and reported accurate charge state after one full cycle.
- First-use charge cycle on TZ-series bodies: Charge this cell fully inside the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. The TZ6 and TZ7 BMS maps its battery-remaining display against a full charge baseline — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings during the first few sessions.
Why the TZ6 battery indicator jumps or reads full then drops suddenly
The TZ6 uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate remaining charge, not a coulomb counter. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than a worn OEM cell, so the indicator can appear to jump between levels until the camera body recalibrates. Running one complete charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camera resets the threshold mapping. After that cycle, the display tracks the new cell accurately.
Camera body showing "no battery" or refusing to power on with a fresh cell installed
This is a BMS authentication check, not a fault with the cell itself. The TZ6 and TZ7 will occasionally reject an unrecognised cell on the first cold insertion, especially if the battery door was opened mid-charge on a previous session. Remove the cell, wait 10 seconds, reinsert firmly, and power on — or place the cell in the OEM charger for a short charge pass first. A partial charge via the OEM charger handshakes the BMS and clears the rejection. The camera should power on normally after that step.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TZ7 shows the battery percentage jumping all over the place with this new cell — is it faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The TZ7 maps its battery indicator against a charge baseline it learns from your first full cycle — a fresh cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the worn OEM cell it replaced, so the display looks erratic until the camera recalibrates. Run one full charge inside the camera body, then shoot until the camera shuts off on its own. After that single cycle, the percentage display should track steadily.
I get noticeably fewer shots per charge than I expected — flash, stabilisation, and continuous AF are all on. Is the cell underspec?
The 890mAh rating is measured at a steady low-current draw. The TZ6 and TZ7 add significant overhead beyond basic sensor and processor load — optical image stabilisation, flash capacitor recharging, and continuous AF each pull extra current every cycle. That combined draw can cut usable shot count well below the figure quoted for still capture with flash off. Turn off OIS when shooting from a tripod and switch AF to single-shot mode to reduce per-shot draw and extend the charge considerably.
The TZ6 body feels noticeably warm after 20–30 minutes of video recording — is that the battery or the camera?
That heat is almost entirely the camera body, not the cell. Sustained video recording loads the TZ6's sensor readout, image processor, and stabilisation system simultaneously, and the compact aluminium chassis has very little thermal mass to absorb it. The battery itself generates minimal heat at the current levels this camera draws. If the body gets uncomfortably hot, pause recording for two to three minutes — the sensor temperature is the limiting factor, and continuous heat buildup affects image quality before it affects the battery.
