Fits Panasonic SV-AS10-W and SV-AV50 series cameras; replaces CGA-S003, CGA-S003A/1B, CGA-S003E/1B, VW-VBA05.
3.7V, 530mAh lithium-ion cell delivers power for imaging sensor, autofocus, and flash capacitor charging in compact digital cameras.
Connector slides straight into camera battery compartment with positive terminal facing outward; no locking tab.
Bench testing showed normal voltage rise during charge cycle with no BMS fault codes on first install in SV-AS10-W body.
On first use, run one full charge cycle through the camera body before heavy shooting — Panasonic BMS needs internal charge recognition to display accurate battery percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic SV-AS10 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CGA-S003)

This 3.7V, 530mAh lithium-ion cell replaces the CGA-S003 battery used in Panasonic SV-AS10-W, SV-AS10-G, SV-AV50PP-S, SV-AV50T, and compatible models. It powers the imaging sensor, processor, and onboard storage during photo and video capture. Voltage and cell dimensions match OEM spec: 54.00 × 35.00 × 4.00mm.

  • SV-AS10 and SV-AV50 compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell power rail and CGA-S003 form factor. The connector pinout and cell dimensions are identical across the range, so one cell fits all listed models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SV-AS10 body using an OEM charger. The camera's BMS accepted the cell after one full charge cycle and reported battery status without fault. Discharge curve tracked consistently through to low-battery cutoff.
  • First-use charge cycle on SV-AS10: Insert the new cell and run one full charge via the OEM charger or camera body before shooting. The SV-AS10 BMS maps its battery-remaining display against the discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the first use.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the SV-AS10 display

The SV-AS10 maps its battery indicator against voltage thresholds calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell has a slightly different curve profile until the BMS has logged at least one full cycle. This causes the display to jump between percentage bands rather than step down smoothly. Run one complete charge-to-cutoff cycle through the camera body and the indicator will stabilise.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on the SV-AV50 series

The flash capacitor on the SV-AV50 draws a short high-current burst from the cell each time it recharges between shots. As cell voltage sags toward 3.4V near end of charge, recharge time increases noticeably. This is normal cell behaviour — it is not a fault in the replacement unit. If recycle lag appears early in a charge cycle, check that the cell reached a full 4.2V charge before the shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SV-AS10 shows a dead battery icon immediately after I put in the new replacement — is the cell faulty?

Not necessarily. The SV-AS10 BMS runs an authentication check on first insert and can reject an unrecognised cell voltage state before it has been charged. Remove the cell, place it in the OEM charger until the charge indicator clears, then reinsert. One full charge cycle through the OEM charger resolves this in the majority of cases.

My shot count is much lower than I expected — the battery drops quickly even though it charged fully.

The CGA-S003 is rated at 530mAh, and draw varies significantly depending on what the camera is doing. Continuous video recording, frequent flash firing, and active LCD use all pull current simultaneously, compressing the number of shots well below still-photo estimates. Check whether video or flash was active during the session — switching to single-shot mode without flash extends usable charge considerably.

The camera body gets noticeably warm during sustained video recording on the SV-AV50 — is the battery overheating?

The heat is coming from the combined draw of the image sensor, processor, and recording buffer — not the cell itself. The CGA-S003 at 3.7V is a compact single cell and the camera body dissipates processor heat through the chassis. If the body feels hot to touch, pause recording for 60 seconds and check that ambient temperature is below 35°C, which is the rated operating ceiling for both the cell and the camera.
