Fits Panasonic MC-B10P, MC-B20J, MC-B20JP cordless vacuum; replaces OEM part AMV10V-8K.
9.6V Ni-MH pack delivers 3000mAh capacity for sustained suction on household floors and carpets.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
We tested the pack on a MC-B20J unit; the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH packs lose capacity fast under trickle charge, so remove the battery once fully charged.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic MC-B10P / MC-B20JP Series — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (AMV10V-8K)

This is a 9.6V 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement for the Panasonic AMV10V-8K battery pack. It fits the MC-B10P, MC-B20J, MC-B20JP, and related cordless stick vacuum models. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to complete a cleaning session.

  • MC-B10P and MC-B20 series fit: These models share the same 9.6V battery bay, connector orientation, and BMS handshake requirements. A single cell design covers all variants in the series without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the MC-B20JP. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the motor drew consistent current across both hard floor and carpet test passes.
  • Dock charging on this vacuum: The MC-B10P and MC-B20 series dock applies a continuous trickle charge once full. Remove the vacuum from the dock when charging is complete. Leaving it docked permanently accelerates Ni-MH capacity fade faster than regular charge-and-discharge cycling does.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On Ni-MH packs, voltage sag shows up at the motor before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery condition. The vacuum's suction noticeably weakens while the LED still reads mid-charge. This happens because the indicator samples resting voltage, not load voltage. If a partially blocked filter is also present, the motor draws above its rated current, which accelerates the sag further — clean the filter first before diagnosing the battery.

Motor cutting out briefly and then recovering mid-clean

This cut-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It triggers when sustained restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to draw above the pack's continuous discharge threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit, the obstruction-related load drops, and the pack resets within seconds. Clear the filter, check the nozzle path, then verify the pack voltage sits above 9.0V at rest before assuming the cell is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MC-B20JP shows a full charge on the dock but suction is weak from the first pass — what's happening?

A fully charged Ni-MH pack still shows resting voltage near the top of its range even when capacity has faded, so the indicator reads full while the motor gets less usable power under load. Check the filter first — a partially blocked filter raises motor draw and makes even a healthy pack feel weak. If cleaning the filter doesn't help, the replacement cell needs a full charge-and-discharge cycle to condition the new cells before rated capacity is available. Charge fully, run to depletion, then charge again.

The vacuum runs fine for a few seconds then shuts off completely — is this a dead battery or something else?

That pattern points to a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed cell. The MC-B10P and MC-B20 series BMS cuts power when sustained current draw exceeds the pack's rated discharge threshold — most often caused by a blocked nozzle, packed filter, or hair wrapped around the brush roll. Clear the airpath and roller, let the pack rest for 60 seconds, then restart. If it runs normally after that, the cell is fine; the blockage was the trigger.

New replacement battery won't charge on the MC-B10P dock — charger light just blinks or stays off.

The MC-B10P dock uses a delta-V detection circuit to confirm charge acceptance. A brand-new Ni-MH cell at low resting voltage can confuse this circuit if the pack arrived partially discharged in transit. Remove the battery from the dock, leave it out for two minutes, then reseat it firmly — the contact pins on this model are spring-loaded and can give a false seating. If the dock still doesn't respond, try a direct plug-in charger set to 9.6V Ni-MH to initialise the pack first, then return it to the dock.
