Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CF-VZSU28)
This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 rugged notebook. It fits the CF-19 series including CF-19EHG68TE, CF-19FHGAXT2, and CF-19KDR78CE, among others. OEM part numbers covered include CF-VZSU28, CF-VZSU48, CF-VZSU48U, CF-VZSU50, and CFVZSU48.
- CF-19 series compatibility: These models share a common 11.1V three-cell configuration, the same physical connector, and an identical BMS handshake protocol — so one cell works across the full CF-19 range without firmware conflicts or connector mismatches.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a CF-19 unit under a combined CPU and display load. The BMS held voltage above the low-cutoff threshold throughout the discharge curve with no thermal event or mid-session trip.
- Post-swap calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that commonly appears after any cell replacement on the CF-19.
BIOS reporting poor battery health after swapping cells on the CF-19
The CF-19 BIOS reads health data stored in the outgoing cell's EEPROM. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM is blank or carries factory default values the BIOS does not recognise, triggering a "poor health" or "replace battery" flag immediately. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a data mismatch. Running the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge-to-100% sequence gives the BIOS enough data to rewrite its internal learn cycle and clear the flag within one to two cycles.
CF-19 shutting down with 20–30% charge still shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual chemistry. The gauge IC was trained on the old, degraded cell and its voltage-to-capacity curve no longer maps correctly — so it reports 25% while the real cell voltage has already dropped below the safe discharge floor. Under full CPU and display load, voltage sags faster than the uncalibrated gauge expects and the BIOS triggers an emergency shutdown. Two full discharge and charge cycles recalibrate the IC against actual cell behaviour. After calibration, the cutoff should not occur above 5% reported charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
The CF-19 BIOS shows the replacement battery as "unknown" or 0% right after install — is the cell dead?
No. The BIOS is reading EEPROM data from the old cell that no longer matches. The new cell's EEPROM carries factory defaults the firmware does not recognise, so it reports unknown or zero. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one to two complete cycles the BIOS learn cycle rewrites and the status clears.
The fuel gauge on my CF-19 jumps from 60% to 15% with no warning — what is happening?
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to your old cell's voltage curve. New Li-ion cells have a steeper voltage drop in the lower charge range than a worn cell, so the gauge IC misreads the real state of charge and the display skips large chunks of percentage. This is not a hardware fault. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate then charge-to-100% cycles and the IC re-maps itself against the new chemistry — the gauge stabilises after that.
System info on my CF-19 shows a different Wh rating than the battery label — which one is correct?
The figure in system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the old or default firmware profile, not measured from the new cell. The rated capacity of this cell is 48.84Wh as specified in the product data. EEPROM-reported Wh values update after the BIOS completes a full learn cycle — discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the system info figure will align to the actual cell rating within one to two cycles.
