Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pharos PTL600 / PTL600E — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PZX33)

This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer cell replacing OEM part PZX33 in the Pharos PTL600 and PTL600E smartphones. It restores calling, messaging, and app functionality when the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and connector match the original factory spec.

  • PTL600 and PTL600E compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits either variant without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on PTL600-series hardware. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This gives the fuel gauge IC one full sweep of the new cell's discharge curve before it starts reporting accurate percentages.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the PTL600 after a cell swap

A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. When the modem fires a transmission burst or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes sharply. If the fuel gauge still thinks 25% equals a higher voltage than the new cell actually delivers under that load, the protection circuit reads a voltage cliff and shuts the phone down. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and maps the new cell's real discharge curve. After that cycle, the shutdowns stop.

PTL600 not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery sat unused long enough to drop below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — and the phone will not power on at all. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to lift it above the BMS recovery threshold before normal charging can begin. Once the charge indicator appears on screen, the cell has cleared lockout.

Frequently Asked Questions

The PTL600 shows 30% battery and then just cuts off — why does this keep happening with the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the PTL600 is still using the discharge curve it mapped on the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage drops faster under modem or screen load than the IC expects at 30%, the protection circuit reads it as a critical undervoltage and shuts the phone down. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell's actual curve. After that single calibration cycle, the early shutdowns resolve.

My PTL600 won't fast charge after fitting this battery — is the cell rejecting the charger?

The charge IC negotiates fast-charge protocol on the first cycle after a cell swap, and it sometimes defaults to standard rate until it has confirmed the new cell's impedance is within range. Use the original wall adapter — not a third-party charger — and let the phone complete one full standard charge to 100% without interruption. On the second and subsequent charges, fast charging typically resumes. If it does not, check that the USB port contacts are clean and seated fully.

The battery percentage on the PTL600 is jumping around erratically — it reads 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating after a cell replacement. The IC uses a stored model of the old cell's voltage-capacity relationship; with a new cell installed, the readings drift until the counter resets. Discharge the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge it to 100% in one uninterrupted session. That single full cycle gives the IC enough data to lock onto the new cell's curve, and the percentage readings stabilise from that point.
