Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philip Morris iQos Iluma i Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT0264)
This is a 3.7V, 3200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Philip Morris iQos Iluma i and iQos Iluma i Prime heated tobacco devices. It replaces OEM part numbers BAT0264 and BAT0248. Fit this when the original battery no longer holds a charge or the device shuts down before a session completes.
- Iluma i and Iluma i Prime compatibility: Both devices share the same voltage rail and connector footprint, and the BMS handshake protocol is identical across the two. One battery fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Iluma i platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the heating element reached operating temperature consistently across test sessions.
- Post-session charging: Do not charge the device immediately after extended use. The cell temperature rises during heating cycles. Allow at least 15 minutes for the cell to cool below 40°C before connecting the charger — charging into a warm Li-ion cell accelerates electrolyte breakdown over time.
Why the Iluma i stops heating mid-session after a battery swap
The Iluma i's BMS sets a low-voltage cutoff to protect the cell during the heating cycle. A new battery shipped in storage mode may sit at 3.0–3.1V — below the threshold the heating element needs to fire consistently. The device may power on but cut the session short because the cell voltage sags under load before the BMS can compensate. A full charge cycle before first use brings the cell to 4.2V and resolves this.
Battery draining significantly faster than expected after installation
Faster-than-expected drain on a new cell usually points to the heating element drawing more current than the battery state-of-charge can sustain cleanly. If the Iluma i's heating blade is partially fouled with residue, resistance drops and current draw increases — the battery works harder per session. Clean the heating blade with the included tool and retest. If drain normalises, the cell was not the cause; if it persists, check that the replacement voltage matches the required 3.7V nominal.

Frequently Asked Questions
My iQos Iluma i powers on but produces no vapour after fitting the new battery — what's wrong?
The heating element on the Iluma i needs the cell to be at or near full charge to reach operating temperature on the first draw. A battery shipped in storage mode can sit as low as 3.0V, which is enough to power the display but not enough to drive the blade heater under load. Charge the device fully until the indicator shows 100% before the first session. That brings the cell to 4.2V and gives the heating circuit the headroom it needs.
The auto-draw on my Iluma i stopped triggering after I replaced the battery — is the sensor faulty?
The auto-draw sensor on the Iluma i uses a pressure-differential trigger that requires a minimum supply voltage to register a draw signal. If the replacement cell is below roughly 3.4V, the sensor circuit may not activate even though the device appears on. This is not a sensor fault — it is a voltage floor issue. Charge the device to full and test again; auto-draw should respond normally once the cell voltage is above the sensor's activation threshold.
The Iluma i gets noticeably warm in my hand during use — is that normal with the new battery?
Some warmth is expected. The Iluma i concentrates both the heating blade load and the battery's discharge heat inside a compact housing with limited airflow. What is not normal is heat that persists more than two minutes after a session ends or that makes the device uncomfortable to hold during use. If you are seeing the latter, check that the blade cavity is clean — residue buildup increases resistance, raises current draw, and pushes cell temperature higher than it should go. Clear the cavity, run a full charge cycle, and monitor the next session.
