Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips PowerPro Aqua FC6408 / FC6409 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (300003446961)
This is a 25.2V 2000mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Philips PowerPro Aqua and PowerPro Duoa cordless vacuum range. It fits the FC6408, FC6409, FC6171, FC6172, and several additional models in these two series. Voltage and cell count match the original pack exactly.
- PowerPro Aqua and Duoa series fit: These models share the same 25.2V six-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping a pack between them does not require any adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the FC6408 platform. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, and the charger recognised the pack without error codes or charging interruptions.
- Dock charging habit on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. The FC6408 charger does not fully terminate trickle current when the pack is full. Remove the vacuum from the dock once charging completes to protect cell capacity over time.
Suction dropping well before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects, typically because a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder. The BMS reads the resulting voltage sag as low charge and reduces power output to protect the cells. The battery gauge is reacting to load, not actual state of charge. Clean or replace the filter, then retest — suction should hold steady through the full charge cycle.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — by a blocked filter, a tangled brush roll, or a carpet pile that chokes the head — the motor current spikes past the BMS threshold and the pack disconnects to prevent cell damage. The brief pause lets the BMS reset, which is why power returns. Fix the restriction first: check the filter and clear the brush roll. If the trip still occurs on an unobstructed surface, measure pack voltage under load — it should hold above 22V during normal motor start.

Frequently Asked Questions
My FC6408 loses suction halfway through a room even though the battery indicator still shows full — is the new battery faulty?
The battery is almost certainly not the cause. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated, which pulls cell voltage down under load — the BMS reads this as low charge and cuts motor power even though the cells are not depleted. Remove and tap out the filter, then run the vacuum again. If suction holds steady after cleaning the filter, the pack is working correctly.
The vacuum runs for a short time, cuts out completely, then starts again after I leave it for a minute — what is happening?
That is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by restricted airflow. The motor current spikes when suction is blocked — by a clogged filter, a jammed brush roll, or dense carpet — and the BMS disconnects the pack to protect the cells. The one-minute pause is the BMS reset timer. Clear the brush roll, clean the filter, and test on a hard floor. If trips stop, the restriction was the cause; if they continue, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the pack voltage reads above 22V on a multimeter at rest.
I charged the replacement pack fully and removed it from the dock, but after a few weeks of normal use the run time already feels shorter than when it was new — did I damage it?
Capacity fade this early usually comes from leaving the vacuum on the dock between uses rather than a faulty cell. The FC6408 charger does not cut trickle current cleanly once the pack is full, so cells sitting at 100% with low-level current flowing lose capacity faster than cells allowed to rest off the charger. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and store the vacuum unplugged. If you have already been doing this and fade continues, check whether the filter restriction is forcing the motor — and therefore the battery — to work harder than rated on every use.
