Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips SBC-EB4880 / Avent SCD 468/84-R — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (MT700D04CX51)
This 4.8V 700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the OEM pack in the Philips SBC-EB4880 A1507 and Avent SCD 468/84-R baby monitor parent units. It restores cordless operation to the handset so you can move freely while monitoring. Voltage and cell count match the original factory specification exactly.
- SBC-EB4880 and SCD 468/84-R compatibility: Both parent units share the same four-cell Ni-MH pack configuration, the same connector pinout, and the same BMS charge-termination logic — so one replacement covers both models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on the SBC-EB4880 parent unit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge cleanly, terminated at the correct delta-V peak, and handed off to trickle without fault flags.
- Re-pair after fitting: Baby monitor parent units lose their wireless link whenever the handset goes completely dead. After fitting this battery and charging, hold the parent unit's link button until the camera unit acknowledges — the monitor will not reconnect on its own.
Why the SBC-EB4880 parent unit drops its camera link after a battery swap
The parent unit stores its paired camera address in volatile memory backed by the battery. When the pack voltage drops to zero during a swap, that memory clears and the radio module loses its registered channel. The camera unit is still broadcasting, but the parent unit has no address to lock onto. A manual re-pair — typically a five-second button hold on both units — writes the address back and restores the link immediately.
Parent unit battery draining overnight with screen staying on
Running the LCD backlight continuously through the night is a sustained current draw that a 700mAh cell was not sized to absorb for eight-plus hours in isolation. Most users report the drain after disabling the screen-timeout function, which is off by default on some firmware versions. Go into the display settings menu and set the screen timeout to 30 seconds or less. That one change alone brings overnight current draw back within the battery's cycle budget.

Frequently Asked Questions
The camera picture came back after charging but now my SBC-EB4880 parent unit shows "out of range" in the same room — why?
Radio transmit power on the parent unit is voltage-sensitive. If you start using the monitor before the pack reaches a full charge, the radio runs at reduced power and drops the link even at close range. Charge the parent unit uninterrupted for the full cycle — typically until the charge indicator clears — then test range. A fully charged 4.8V pack restores normal transmit power.
Night vision on the camera unit stopped working after I replaced the battery on the parent unit — are they connected?
They are indirectly connected. The IR LEDs on the camera unit are triggered by a command sent from the parent unit, and that command requires the parent unit's radio to be operating at sufficient voltage. If the parent unit is undercharged, the IR activation signal either doesn't transmit or arrives corrupt. Charge the parent unit fully and re-pair both units — night vision should activate automatically once the parent unit is back at 4.8V.
My Avent SCD 468/84-R parent unit won't hold a charge for more than a day even with the new battery — what's wrong?
Ni-MH cells are sensitive to shallow cycling. If the original pack was repeatedly topped up from 70–80% without full discharge cycles, the charger's delta-V detection can misread the new pack as full and cut off early. Run the parent unit down until it shows low battery, then charge it fully without interruption — this lets the charger recalibrate its termination point against the new cells. One full discharge-to-charge cycle is usually enough to correct it.
