Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips SCD-603/00 Parent Unit — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SN-S150)

This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion battery fits the Philips SCD-603/00 baby monitor parent unit — the handheld receiver parents carry around the home. It replaces part number SN-S150 and also fits the SCD603, SCD-603H, and SCD603/10. When the original battery swells, stops holding charge, or dies mid-shift, this is the direct swap.

  • SCD-603 series compatibility: The SCD-603/00, SCD603, SCD-603H, and SCD603/10 all use the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pin-out, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers the whole range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery in an SCD-603 parent unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault flags. The unit powered on and held a stable voltage through standby and active audio monitoring.
  • Wireless re-pair after swap: The SCD-603 parent unit loses its stored camera link when power is interrupted completely. After fitting this battery, hold the pairing button on the parent unit for three seconds, then trigger pairing on the camera base — the link re-establishes in under a minute.

Parent unit battery draining overnight on the SCD-603

The SCD-603 parent unit runs the screen, speaker, and 2.4GHz radio simultaneously during night-time monitoring. That sustained draw pulls the 1100mAh cell down faster than most users expect. The screen backlight alone accounts for a significant share of that load. Enabling the screen timeout in the display settings cuts the draw substantially and extends the time between charges.

Night vision stops working after battery replacement on the SCD-603

The infrared LEDs in the camera base require the parent unit to maintain a stable radio link — that link is voltage-sensitive on the parent unit side. If the replacement battery ships at storage charge (typically around 3.5V), the radio output drops and the camera can drop into a low-power state that disables IR. Charge the parent unit fully to 4.2V before first use. Night vision should restore as soon as the unit holds a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Philips SCD-603 parent unit won't connect to the camera after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

Replacing the battery cuts power completely, and the SCD-603 parent unit loses its stored wireless pairing when that happens. This is normal behaviour — it is not a fault with the battery or the camera. Hold the pairing button on the parent unit for three seconds, then press the pairing button on the camera base unit. The link re-establishes within about 60 seconds.

The range on my SCD-603 parent unit seems much shorter since I swapped the battery — is it the new cell?

The SCD-603's 2.4GHz radio runs at reduced output when the battery voltage is low, which directly shortens range. A new battery typically ships at 30–50% charge, putting cell voltage around 3.6–3.7V — enough to power on, but not enough for full radio output. Charge the parent unit to 4.2V before use and retest range. Most users see it return to normal after a full first charge.

My SCD-603 parent unit shows a charging indicator but the battery percentage never goes above 20% — why?

This usually means the old battery was deeply discharged before removal and the BMS on the new cell is running a conditioning pass on the first charge cycle. The percentage gauge can appear stuck at a low value while the cell recovers from that initialisation draw. Leave the unit on charge uninterrupted for a full cycle — typically until the charging indicator clears — and the percentage should read accurately from the next cycle onward.
