Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Xenium S337 / CTS337 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AB2000JWML)
This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell rated at 6.66Wh, built to the AB2000JWML specification. It fits the Philips Xenium S337 and CTS337 dual-SIM candybar phones. Install it when the original cell no longer holds adequate charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under normal use.
- S337 and CTS337 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V single-cell architecture. The AB2000JWML part number covers both variants — no hardware differences affect fitment.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the S337 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error codes, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xenium S337
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem's minimum rail voltage under load — even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The S337's dual-SIM modem draws a short high-current spike during call setup or network switching. An aged cell with elevated internal resistance cannot sustain voltage through that spike, so the phone cuts out. A fresh AB2000JWML cell with lower impedance holds voltage through those transients. After fitting the new cell, run one full discharge cycle so the fuel gauge recalibrates — this stops the reported percentage from lagging the actual cell state.
Phone warm near the battery slot during first few charges
A new cell typically arrives with slightly higher internal impedance than a fully conditioned one. During the first one or two charge cycles, the charge IC works against that higher impedance, which generates mild heat near the battery bay. This is normal and settles after the cell beds in. If warmth persists beyond the third charge cycle or the phone feels hot to the touch, check that the replacement is seated flat and the connector is fully engaged — a partially connected cell forces the charge IC to compensate, raising heat output.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Philips Xenium S337 shows 25% battery then just dies — why does the new cell do this too?
The fuel gauge IC on the S337 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage profile and reports a percentage that's higher than reality. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to full — this forces the coulomb counter to reset against the new cell. After that single cycle, the reported percentage should track actual charge state accurately. Do not interrupt the first full cycle early.
The S337 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks before I installed it.
If a Li-ion cell discharges below roughly 2.5V in storage, the BMS trips into lockout to prevent damage, and the phone will not respond to the power button. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it connected for at least 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, which sits around 2.8–3.0V. Once the cell crosses that threshold, the BMS releases lockout and the phone will boot normally. If the charge LED never illuminates after 30 minutes, reseat the battery connector and try a different cable.
Fast charging stopped working on my S337 after I put in the new battery — the old one charged quickly but this one crawls.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the S337's charge IC defaults to a conservative constant-current profile while it establishes communication with the new cell's BMS. This is expected behaviour — the phone is not in a fault state. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, then unplug and allow the phone to sit at 100% for two minutes before the next session. On subsequent charges the IC negotiates the correct current limit with the new BMS and fast charge resumes; if it does not, confirm the charger output is at least 5V/1A, as the S337 will not step up to fast charge below that threshold.
