Fits Plantronics 77049-01 and Calisto Pro cordless headset; replaces original 2.4V Ni-MH pack directly.
2.4V, 700mAh capacity restores talk time and standby performance on DECT wireless headsets used in office settings.
Battery slides into handset slot with flat connector; polarity marked on housing; no locking tab required for secure seating.
We ran charge cycles on a Calisto Pro base unit; BMS accepted voltage within first cycle; no conditioning fault observed.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Plantronics Calisto Pro / 77049-01 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the Plantronics Calisto Pro and 77049-01 cordless headset. It fits the same footprint at 43.55 × 20.42 × 10.60mm and drops straight into the battery bay without modification. Capacity is rated at 1.68Wh, matching the original specification.

  • Calisto Pro and 77049-01 compatibility: Both models run the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH voltage rail and share an identical battery bay and connector orientation. A single pack covers both variants — no adapter or wiring change needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Calisto Pro base station. The base accepted the new pack without error, the charge indicator lit normally, and the BMS held within the expected 2.4V nominal window across all test cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH headset packs: After installing the new battery, seat the headset in the base and leave it there for a full 16 hours before the first call. NiMH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged — a slow first charge lets them reach rated capacity. Skipping this step typically results in shorter-than-expected talk time for the first few cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells don't reach full rated capacity on the first charge cycle out of storage. The Calisto Pro's base charger uses a slow trickle charge, so the first three to five cycles will deliver noticeably less talk time than the rated spec. Each full charge-discharge cycle conditions the cells further. By cycle five, the pack should be delivering close to the 700mAh rated capacity.

Base station shows no charge light or error after fitting a new pack

NiMH packs sitting in storage can drop to a voltage the base station's charge controller reads as a fault condition rather than a depleted battery. The base expects to see a pack above roughly 2.0V before it begins a normal charge cycle. If the error light stays on, remove the headset, wait 10 seconds, and re-seat it firmly — this resets the charge controller handshake. If the base still shows an error, leave the headset seated for 30 minutes; the trickle pre-charge circuit should bring the pack voltage up to the acceptance threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Plantronics Calisto Pro headset is draining completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — why?

The most common cause is the headset not making full contact with the base charging pins. NiMH packs have a higher self-discharge rate than lithium cells, so a pack that isn't actively receiving charge will flatten overnight. Check that the headset clicks firmly into the cradle and that the charge indicator light is on. If the light is on and drain still happens, clean the base pins and headset contacts with a dry cloth — oxidation on the contacts breaks the charge circuit.

The headset lost its DECT pairing after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the headset, which clears the pairing memory on some DECT devices. The Calisto Pro stores pairing data in volatile memory tied to battery power. Re-pair by pressing and holding the pairing button on the base station until the LED flashes, then press the call button on the headset within 30 seconds to complete the handshake.

Range dropped noticeably after fitting the replacement battery — the headset cuts out further from the desk than it used to.

RF transmit power in DECT headsets scales with available battery voltage. A new NiMH pack that hasn't been conditioned yet will sag under the current draw of the radio transmitter, dropping below the voltage threshold needed for full-power transmission. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles first. If range is still reduced after conditioning, check that the battery contacts in the bay are clean and making firm contact — a high-resistance connection will cause voltage sag under RF load even with a fully charged pack.
