V Tech 8913260000 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BATT-6010)

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for V Tech cordless phone handsets. It fits the 8913260000, 8913300100, and a wide range of compatible V Tech models that share the BATT-6010 footprint. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds enough charge to get through a normal call.

  • V Tech BATT-6010 platform: These handsets share a common 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack configuration, identical connector pinout, and the same base-station charge circuit. Any model cross-referenced to BATT-6010 will accept this pack without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on a V Tech handset base station and confirmed the BMS accepted charge from a flat state, reached full voltage without error lights, and held standby draw within the expected range across three full cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before use. NiMH cells in cordless phones condition slowly — skipping this step means the pack may never reach rated capacity in normal use.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH packs ship in a partially discharged state and take three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, talk time will feel noticeably short — this is not a defect. Each subsequent full cycle reconditions the cells and recovers capacity. By cycle five, the pack should deliver performance matching the 700mAh rating.

Base station shows no-charge or error light on a new NiMH pack

V Tech base stations use a voltage threshold to detect a seated handset before starting the charge cycle. A pack that has discharged below approximately 1.8V total during storage may fall under that detection threshold. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — the base charge circuit will retry. If the error persists, a brief top-up with a standalone NiMH charger to bring the pack above 2.0V will allow the base to detect and resume normal charging.

My V Tech handset is losing range right after I swapped the battery — it was fine before. What's going on?

NiMH voltage sags under the RF transmit load that DECT handsets draw during a call, especially when the pack is new and not yet conditioned. That sag causes the handset's transmit power to drop, which cuts effective range. Run three to five full charge cycles and range will stabilise as the cells build internal capacity. If range is still short after five cycles, confirm the battery contacts inside the handset are clean and making firm contact.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery. How do I fix it?

Some V Tech DECT models lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset — this is a known behaviour, not a fault with the battery. Re-register the handset through the base station menu: press and hold the Find Handset button on the base for five seconds to enter pairing mode, then follow the on-screen prompts on the handset. Once re-paired, the handset will function normally.

The new battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base. What causes that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery defect. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base cradle, the charge contacts do not make a clean connection and the base never actually charges the pack — the handset runs on standby draw until the battery is flat. Press the handset firmly into the cradle until it clicks, then check that the charging indicator light on the base activates. If the light does not appear, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth and reseat.
