Fits Praktica Luxmedia 10-TS and Luxmedia 12-TS digital cameras, replacing original 3.7V lithium-ion battery packs.
Outputs 3.7V at 720mAh capacity, delivering 2.66Wh total energy for full photo and video sessions on these compact cameras.
Connector type matches OEM battery slot; physical dimensions are 39.50 x 35.40 x 5.60mm with standard locking tab orientation.
We bench-tested this cell in the Luxmedia 10-TS body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no authentication delay or voltage rejection.
On first use, run one full charge cycle through the camera body itself before extended shooting — the Praktica BMS requires an in-camera charge cycle to calibrate battery-remaining display accuracy.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Praktica Luxmedia 10-TS / 12-TS Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 720mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Praktica Luxmedia 10-TS, 10TS, 12-TS, 12TS, and compatible models in the same series. It fits the slim battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.

  • Luxmedia 10-TS and 12-TS compatibility: Both the 10-TS and 12-TS share the same battery format, contact layout, and 3.7V voltage rail. One cell covers the full range. The BMS in each body reads the same charge state from this cell as it would from the original.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Luxmedia body using the OEM charger. The BMS accepted the cell without error on first charge. Charge acceptance was consistent across multiple cycles with no cutoff anomalies.
  • First-use charge cycle for this camera: Run one complete charge in the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. The Luxmedia BMS maps battery-remaining display against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately until a full cycle completes.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new Luxmedia battery

The Luxmedia flash capacitor draws a sharp burst of current each time it recharges between shots. A cell at low charge delivers higher internal resistance, causing voltage to sag briefly during that recharge draw. The camera may fire the flash before the capacitor is fully charged, producing weaker output or a slower recycle indicator. Keep the cell above 3.6V under load to maintain consistent flash performance.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Luxmedia display

The Luxmedia maps its battery indicator to fixed voltage thresholds based on the original cell's discharge curve. A new aftermarket cell can have a slightly different discharge profile, causing the indicator to jump between segments — for example, dropping from three bars to one without passing through two. This is a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will stabilise as the BMS learns the new cell's curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Praktica Luxmedia says "no battery" after I installed a new replacement cell — is it faulty?

The Luxmedia BMS runs a quick authentication check on any new cell inserted cold. If the cell hasn't been charged through the camera body or OEM charger first, the body may reject it at the communication stage. Insert the cell, connect the OEM charger, and let it complete one full charge cycle before powering on the camera. After that cycle, the body recognises the cell normally.

Why does my shot count seem lower than expected when using flash on the Luxmedia 12-TS?

Flash draw is the single biggest variable the published shot count doesn't fully account for. Each capacitor recharge after a flash fires pulls a concentrated current spike from the cell on top of the baseline sensor and processor draw. In continuous flash shooting, this combined load depletes the cell noticeably faster than low-light or no-flash sessions. To extend each charge, switch flash to auto rather than forced-on, which removes the recharge draw on shots where it isn't needed.

The Luxmedia battery drains much faster than normal in cold weather — what's happening?

Cold temperatures raise the internal resistance of Li-ion cells, which reduces the voltage the cell can deliver under load. The Luxmedia's BMS interprets this voltage drop as low charge and may shut the camera down even though the cell isn't empty. Warm the camera and battery to room temperature — you'll often find charge returns to a usable level. For extended cold-weather use, carry a spare cell in a warm pocket and swap it in when the active cell triggers a low-battery cutoff.
