Praktica Luxmedia 10-TS / 12-TS Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 720mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Praktica Luxmedia 10-TS, 10TS, 12-TS, 12TS, and compatible models in the same series. It fits the slim battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.

• Luxmedia 10-TS and 12-TS compatibility: Both the 10-TS and 12-TS share the same battery format, contact layout, and 3.7V voltage rail. One cell covers the full range. The BMS in each body reads the same charge state from this cell as it would from the original.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Luxmedia body using the OEM charger. The BMS accepted the cell without error on first charge. Charge acceptance was consistent across multiple cycles with no cutoff anomalies.
• First-use charge cycle for this camera: Run one complete charge in the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. The Luxmedia BMS maps battery-remaining display against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately until a full cycle completes.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new Luxmedia battery

The Luxmedia flash capacitor draws a sharp burst of current each time it recharges between shots. A cell at low charge delivers higher internal resistance, causing voltage to sag briefly during that recharge draw. The camera may fire the flash before the capacitor is fully charged, producing weaker output or a slower recycle indicator. Keep the cell above 3.6V under load to maintain consistent flash performance.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Luxmedia display

The Luxmedia maps its battery indicator to fixed voltage thresholds based on the original cell's discharge curve. A new aftermarket cell can have a slightly different discharge profile, causing the indicator to jump between segments — for example, dropping from three bars to one without passing through two. This is a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will stabilise as the BMS learns the new cell's curve.
