Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion MD86063 / MD85416 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VG0376122100001)
This 3.7V, 720mAh lithium-ion cell replaces the original Medion VG0376122100001 battery used across the MD86063, MD85416, MD85562, MD86084, and related compact digital camera models. It matches the original voltage, physical footprint (39.50 × 35.40 × 5.60mm), and connector orientation so the cell seats correctly in the battery bay. Capacity figures are sourced directly from product data — 720mAh / 2.66Wh.
- MD86063 / MD85416 series compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V voltage rail, and BMS communication protocol — which is why one cell covers the full range. Swapping a cell rated at a different voltage would trip the protection circuit immediately.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on camera-class test equipment. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and thermal threshold events.
- First-cycle BMS initialisation: Charge this cell fully inside the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. Some Medion compact camera BMS systems need one complete in-body charge cycle before they begin tracking battery-remaining percentage accurately — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read incorrectly from the start.
Why the MD86063 displays a dead-battery icon on a replacement cell that still has charge
Medion compact cameras map their battery indicator against a voltage-discharge curve programmed for the original cell. A new replacement cell can have a slightly different discharge curve shape, particularly in the mid-range between 3.9V and 3.7V. The camera's indicator logic reads the voltage at that point and maps it to an empty or near-empty state even when usable capacity remains. Running one full charge-to-depletion cycle inside the camera body allows the BMS to recalibrate its threshold mapping against the actual curve of the new cell.
Flash not fully recycling between shots
When the flash capacitor recharges between shots, it draws a short but sharp current spike from the battery. Toward the end of a discharge cycle — typically below 3.6V — the cell's internal resistance rises and it can no longer supply that spike cleanly. The result is a slower recycle time or a visibly weaker flash output. This is normal cell behaviour, not a fault with the replacement unit. If recycling slows significantly, check the camera's battery indicator — once voltage recovers above 3.7V on a fresh charge, flash output returns to full strength.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Medion MD86063 shows "no battery" or refuses to power on with the new cell installed — what's happening?
Some Medion compact camera bodies run a brief BMS authentication check on first contact with a new cell and reject it if the check times out. Remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, reinsert it firmly until the door clicks, then charge via the camera body for a full cycle before attempting to power on. This forces the camera's BMS to complete its handshake with the cell properly. If the body still shows no battery, try the same sequence with the cell in an OEM-compatible external charger first, then reinstall at full charge.
The battery percentage on my MD86063 jumps around — it shows 80%, drops to 20%, then climbs again. Is the cell faulty?
The indicator is reading voltage snapshots and mapping them against the original cell's discharge curve — a new cell with a slightly different curve causes the percentage to land at wrong points on that map. The fix is to run one complete discharge cycle (shoot until the camera shuts itself off) followed by a full charge inside the camera body. This gives the BMS enough real-world data to remap its thresholds to the new cell's actual curve, and the percentage reading stabilises from that point.
My shot count on the MD86063 is lower than I expected — is 720mAh not enough for a full day's shooting?
Shot count drops fast when flash, continuous autofocus, and the LCD backlight all run together — those combined loads draw significantly more than the spec shot count assumes. 720mAh is the correct rated capacity for this cell and matches the original. To extend shoots, turn off the LCD review function between shots, reduce flash use where ambient light allows, and keep the camera warm — lithium-ion cells deliver noticeably less usable capacity below 10°C, which is the most common cause of unexpectedly short shooting sessions in cooler conditions.
