This is a 12V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Profalux Presto Sola and Solar Visio range. It matches OEM part numbers 3106541, MAE-SBAT4PX, and MAE-SBATPX. If the original cell has degraded and your smart home device is no longer holding charge, this is the direct swap.

Why the Presto Sola goes offline immediately after a battery swap

The Presto Sola does not power on and reconnect instantly — it runs a boot sequence that includes a mesh network re-join handshake. This takes up to 60 seconds under normal conditions. If your hub marks the device offline during this window, that is expected behaviour, not a fault with the battery or the unit. Only flag it as a problem if the device has not reappeared in your app after 90 seconds.

Ni-MH cells lose voltage during storage — even a new cell can sit at 11.2V or below by the time it reaches you. If the Profalux device reads that as a low battery state, the alert is technically accurate for the current voltage, not a sign the battery is faulty. Run a full charge cycle first. The alert should clear once the cell reaches its resting voltage of 12V–13V.

My Presto Sola still shows as offline in the app 10 minutes after fitting the new battery — what's wrong?

If the device has not reappeared after 90 seconds, the hub has likely dropped the pairing rather than the battery causing the issue. Open your Profalux app, navigate to device settings, and manually trigger a re-pair or re-scan. The hub does not always automatically re-adopt a device after a power interruption longer than a few seconds.

The new battery is draining noticeably faster than the old one did when it was new — is the cell faulty?

In most cases the cause is network-side, not the battery. If the Presto Sola is in a high-traffic mesh network or the polling interval has been set to a short cycle, the device draws current more frequently than it was configured for originally. Check your app's sensor polling or reporting interval setting and increase it — a 30-second poll cycle pulls significantly more current than a 5-minute cycle.

The Presto Sola powers on but immediately cuts out again after I install the replacement battery — what causes that?

This is usually a BMS undervoltage trip. A Ni-MH cell stored for an extended period can drop below the BMS acceptance threshold — typically under 10V. The device powers on briefly then shuts down to protect the circuit. Connect the battery to a compatible Ni-MH charger and charge it externally for 15–20 minutes to bring the cell above 11V, then reinstall it.
