Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Reolink Argus 3 Pro — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Battery-Li7)

This is a 3.7V, 6000mAh (22.2Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Reolink Argus 3 Pro wireless security camera. It uses OEM part numbers Battery-Li7, 01DQ0040-19T, and Li16. When the original cell loses capacity or stops holding charge, this swap restores the camera to full operation.

  • Argus 3 Pro fit: The Argus 3 Pro uses a fixed 3.7V battery bay with a dedicated connector keyed to this cell's dimensions — 89.30 × 67.50 × 55.50mm. The BMS expects this exact voltage rail. A mismatched cell will either fail the handshake or prevent the camera from powering on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through full charge and discharge cycles on the Argus 3 Pro. The BMS registered the cell correctly, motion detection triggered without cutoff, and night-vision IR draw did not trip the protection circuit.
  • First-install power cycle: After fitting the new battery, power cycle the camera once through the Reolink app. The firmware must register the new cell before motion events log correctly to cloud storage — skipping this step can cause missed recordings even when the battery reads charged.

App showing 0% or incorrect percentage after battery swap

The Argus 3 Pro uses a voltage-threshold indicator, not a fuel gauge IC. When a new cell is installed, the firmware has no reference point for that cell's charge curve yet. The indicator can display 0%, a frozen percentage, or an inflated reading until the camera completes one full charge-to-discharge cycle. Run the battery down past the low-battery alert once, then charge to full — the percentage readout will track correctly after that.

Camera goes offline in the app immediately after battery installation

Fitting a new battery cuts power to the camera's WiFi module, which clears the active session token stored in firmware. The Reolink app does not automatically re-establish the connection — it waits for a manual re-registration. Open the app, go to device settings, and trigger a reconnect or re-add the camera to the same network. If the camera still shows offline, confirm it is within range and that the 2.4GHz network SSID has not changed since the original setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Argus 3 Pro stops recording mid-clip — is the new battery cutting out?

Mid-clip dropout on the Argus 3 Pro is most often caused by a WiFi reconnect current spike rather than a dead cell. When the camera briefly loses signal and reconnects, the combined draw from the WiFi radio and processor can momentarily exceed the BMS protection threshold, tripping a cutoff. Move the camera closer to the router or add a WiFi extender, and confirm the signal strength reads above -65 dBm in the Reolink app's device info screen.

Night vision shuts off a few hours after dark and the camera goes to sleep — what's happening?

Sustained IR LED draw at night is one of the highest continuous loads the Argus 3 Pro places on its battery. If the cell voltage sags under that load, the BMS can trigger an undervoltage cutoff, putting the camera into sleep mode. On a new cell this typically points to an incomplete first charge — charge the battery fully to 4.2V before the next overnight run. If the problem persists after a full charge cycle, check that the camera's power-saving mode is not set to an aggressive schedule in the app.

The solar panel is connected but the battery percentage keeps dropping each day — why won't it charge?

Solar panels for the Argus 3 Pro need to output above the BMS re-entry voltage — typically around 5V at sufficient current — to begin charging a depleted cell. In winter, low sun angle and panel shading can drop output below that threshold even when the indicator light appears on. Angle the panel to face direct sun for at least four hours, and wipe the panel surface clean. If the battery has already discharged below 3.0V, plug in via USB-C to bring the cell back above the BMS re-entry floor before relying on solar again.
