Fits Roberts Sports Dab2 portable DAB radio; replaces OEM part D8110-21-00447.
3.7V, 1850mAh Li-Polymer pack delivers rated capacity for full DAB and FM reception cycles.
Connector slides into battery compartment slot with single locking tab; oriented flat against rear case.
We bench-tested this cell on a Sports Dab2 tuner through full DAB band scan; BMS held stable voltage under sustained RF search load with no early cutoff.
After installation, allow the radio to complete a full auto-scan for DAB stations before manual tuning — the station list resets after power interruption and needs a fresh scan to rebuild.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Roberts Sports DAB2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (D8110-21-00447)

This 3.7V, 1850mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original pack in the Roberts Sports DAB2 portable digital radio. It fits the DAB/FM tuner directly using the OEM part number D8110-21-00447. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds a usable charge through a listening session away from mains power.

  • Roberts Sports DAB2 fit: The Sports DAB2 uses a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal. The connector pinout and BMS communication match the OEM spec, so the radio's charge controller recognises the cell and manages charge termination correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Sports DAB2 platform. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination at 4.2V and held the radio's RF and decoder stages at stable voltage through the discharge curve.
  • First-use station scan: After fitting this battery, run a full auto-scan before tuning manually. The Sports DAB2 holds its station list in volatile memory — any power interruption resets it, and the radio needs a fresh scan to rebuild the complete station index for your area.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery on the Sports DAB2

The DAB decoder in the Sports DAB2 requires a stable supply voltage to maintain stream synchronisation. When cell voltage sags toward the lower end of the discharge curve, the decoder loses lock on the multiplex and the audio drops out — even though the radio appears to still be on. This is not a tuning fault. A fresh cell holds voltage flat across most of its discharge range, which keeps the decoder stage fed above its minimum threshold.

Battery draining faster than expected in areas with poor DAB coverage

In weak signal areas, the Roberts Sports DAB2 increases the power its RF front-end draws while searching for and locking onto DAB multiplexes. This draws more current from the cell than normal listening conditions. The result is noticeably shorter use between charges compared to strong-signal environments. If drain seems excessive, check signal strength in the radio's info menu — a consistently low signal reading confirms the RF stage is working harder, not a fault with the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Roberts Sports DAB2 lost all its saved stations after I fitted the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Sports DAB2 stores its station list in volatile memory, and any complete power loss — including a battery swap — clears it. The radio has not developed a fault. Run a full auto-scan from the menu once the new battery is fitted, and the radio will rebuild its station list from the DAB multiplex signals available in your area.

DAB reception on my Sports DAB2 seems worse since the original battery started dying — will a new battery fix this?

A degraded cell sags in voltage under load, and the RF front-end in the Sports DAB2 needs to stay above a minimum supply voltage to output full signal-search power. When the cell can no longer hold that voltage, reception degrades — the radio drops multiplexes it would normally lock onto cleanly. Fitting a fresh 3.7V cell restores the supply the RF stage needs. Check the signal strength display after fitting — it should read consistently higher on the same stations.

My Sports DAB2 plays fine at the start of a charge but cuts out mid-stream as the battery gets lower — what's causing this?

The DAB decode stage needs stable voltage to maintain multiplex lock. As a worn or partly discharged cell sags, voltage drops below what the decoder requires and the stream loses sync — cutting audio even while the display stays on. This is a supply voltage issue, not a reception or software fault. A replacement cell with a flatter discharge curve holds the decoder above its cutoff threshold for much longer into the discharge cycle.
