Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Roborock P20 Pro — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BRR-42C-5200AD)
This 14.4V Li-ion battery replaces the OEM BRR-42C-5200AD cell in the Roborock P20 Pro robot vacuum. It carries a 5200mAh (74.88Wh) capacity — the same spec as the factory cell. When the original pack degrades, suction drops and runtime shortens; a fresh cell restores the motor's full power draw.
- P20 Pro fit: The P20 Pro runs a 14.4V rail with a specific BMS handshake that governs charging, discharge cutoff, and motor-start current. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector, so the robot's onboard management system recognises the pack and charges normally.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through motor-start surge and sustained suction loads. The BMS held discharge cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not trip on the inrush current the P20 Pro pulls when the brush motor spins up from rest.
- Dock charging habit on the P20 Pro: Do not leave the P20 Pro sitting on the charging dock between every run indefinitely. Continuous trickle current from permanent docking accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge the battery fully, then remove the unit from the dock until the next clean cycle.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The P20 Pro's BMS monitors cell voltage under load, not at rest. When a degraded cell can no longer sustain the voltage the motor demands under carpet or debris load, the BMS throttles output before the charge indicator registers empty. The robot appears to have battery remaining, but suction weakens or the unit slows. A fresh cell with full capacity holds the voltage rail steady under the motor's sustained draw, so throttling doesn't kick in prematurely.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a pause
This is an overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the brush roll or suction path is restricted — clogged filter, tangled hair, blocked intake — the motor pulls harder to maintain suction, and the BMS sees sustained current above its trip threshold. It cuts power to protect the cells, then resets after a brief thermal and current recovery period. Clearing the filter and brush roll is the first fix. If cutouts continue on a clean machine, the original cell's internal resistance has risen enough that even normal motor loads now trip the overcurrent threshold — replacing the pack resolves it.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Roborock P20 Pro shows a full charge but loses suction halfway through a room — why?
A degraded Li-ion cell can no longer hold its voltage under the sustained current the motor draws across carpet or through debris. The charge indicator reads state-of-charge at rest, not under load — so the display looks normal while the actual voltage sags the moment suction demand rises. First, clean the filter and check for brush roll blockage, since restriction forces the motor to draw more current and worsens the sag. If the filter is clear and suction still drops early, the cell needs replacing.
The P20 Pro keeps cutting out mid-clean, pausing for a minute, then starting again — is this a battery fault or something else?
That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip resetting itself. When the suction path is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, packed debris — the motor draws above the BMS current limit and the pack shuts off to protect the cells. Remove and tap out the filter, clear any hair from the brush roll, then run a clean cycle. If the cutouts stop, restriction was the cause; if they continue on a fully clear machine, the cell's internal resistance has risen enough that normal motor loads now exceed the trip threshold and the battery needs replacement.
My replacement P20 Pro battery won't charge — the dock light doesn't respond after fitting it
The P20 Pro's charging circuit expects a BMS handshake from the pack before it opens the charge path — no handshake, no current. Seat the battery firmly so all contact pins are fully engaged; a partial connection breaks the handshake signal. If seating doesn't fix it, remove the battery, leave it out for 30 seconds, refit it, and place the robot on the dock again — this forces the robot's charge controller to reinitialise communication with the new pack. A confirmed compatible replacement carrying the BRR-42C-5200AD designation should complete the handshake on the second attempt.
