Fits Rowenta Minivac Extenso models AC47, AC4769, AC476901 and others; replaces OEM part RS-AC3477.
7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage throughout the cleaning cycle for consistent suction on stairs and upholstery.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; verify the tab seats flush before closing the housing.
We tested the cell on a bench charger cycle; the BMS accepted full charge in under 4 hours with no fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge — Ni-MH cells on perpetual trickle charge lose capacity faster than those removed after charging completes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta Minivac Extenso Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (RS-AC3477)

This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Rowenta Minivac Extenso cordless hand vacuum. It fits the AC47, AC4769, AC476901, and related Minivac Extenso models that use the RS-AC3477 cell configuration. Capacity is sourced from product data at 2000mAh (14.4Wh).

  • Minivac Extenso platform fit: The AC47 series models share the same 7.2V cell stack, connector orientation, and physical housing dimensions — 86.00 x 56.30 x 45.00mm — so one replacement cell serves the full model range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Minivac Extenso motor circuit under sustained suction load. The BMS held stable voltage across the draw cycle and did not trip on normal carpet-level resistance. Cutoff only engaged at correct low-voltage threshold.
  • Dock charging on the Minivac Extenso: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the dock between uses. Continuous trickle charge through the Ni-MH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles. Charge to full, then pull it off the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells under motor load show voltage sag before the pack is fully depleted. On the Minivac Extenso, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw harder, which pulls the cell voltage down faster than normal. The vacuum loses suction pressure at the nozzle while the indicator still reads mid-charge. Clear the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This pattern points to a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead cell. When the filter is restricted or the nozzle is blocked, sustained airflow resistance causes the motor to spike current draw beyond the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets once current drops. Clean the filter and check the nozzle pathway — if the cut-out stops, the replacement cell is functioning correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta Minivac Extenso loses suction quickly but the battery light isn't showing low — is the new battery faulty?

Not necessarily. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes voltage sag in the Ni-MH cells before the charge indicator responds. The vacuum loses suction pressure while the pack still reads as charged. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction holds after that, the battery is working as expected.

The Minivac Extenso ran well for a few months on the replacement battery but now the charge doesn't last as long — what caused this?

Ni-MH cells lose capacity faster when kept on continuous dock charge. The Minivac Extenso dock applies a trickle charge indefinitely, and prolonged trickle charging degrades cell capacity over repeated cycles. Charge the battery to full and remove it from the dock rather than leaving it docked between uses. Capacity will stabilise once you switch to charge-and-remove cycles.

The Rowenta Minivac Extenso motor cuts out during use and then comes back on after I set it down — is this a wiring issue?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a wiring fault. When the nozzle or filter is partially blocked, the motor sustains a high current draw and the BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cell. Once current drops — when you set it down and the motor stops — the BMS resets and power restores. Clear the filter and check the nozzle for blockage; if the cut-out stops occurring, the cell and BMS are both functioning correctly.
