Fits Sagem MC932, MC928, MC959, and MC918 handsets; replaces OEM part 238127153 and variant part numbers 238191851.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1000mAh supplies steady voltage through calls, texts, and standby without the voltage sag of an aged battery.
Connector slides straight into the battery bay with a positive tab that seats flush against the terminal clip; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this cell in an MC932 under load cycle — the BMS showed clean termination at 4.2V peak, no early cutoff or cell imbalance flags.
On first charge after installation, let one full discharge-charge cycle complete before the phone's fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell curve; if the display shows wrong percentage during that cycle, it will correct after the next full charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem MC932 / MC928 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (238127153)

This is a 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion cell for the Sagem MC932, MC928, MC959, MC918, and over 20 additional Sagem handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers 238127153, 238191851, 238191851 N4, and 238191851 N5. Capacity figures come from the product data — 1000mAh / 3.7Wh.

  • MC900 series compatibility: The MC918, MC928, MC932, and MC959 share the same battery bay dimensions (81.40 × 48.30 × 9.70mm), connector pinout, and 3.7V voltage rail — one cell format covers the whole platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on compatible hardware. The BMS held charge termination correctly and showed no false-positive cutoff during moderate screen-and-call load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MC932 after a cell swap

The MC932's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits its voltage cliff — typically around 3.5V under modem or display load — the gauge still thinks reserve capacity remains. The phone cuts out because the cell voltage drops below the BMS floor, not because the gauge says zero. One full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and realigns the curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% stop.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells stored uncharged self-discharge over time. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone shows nothing when you press power. Connect the handset to a low-current charger (a standard 5V USB wall adapter, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The BMS requires a trickle input to exit lockout before normal charging resumes. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, the cell has recovered above the BMS floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sagem MC932 shuts off at around 25% after I fitted the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the MC932 is still reading the discharge curve of your old, worn cell — it doesn't know the new cell has different characteristics. When the new cell's voltage drops sharply under load, the BMS cuts power before the gauge reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown and then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter, and the early shutdowns stop.

The MC932 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal?

Yes, and it's specific to the first few cycles on a new cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC pushes a little more voltage across a higher resistance — that generates heat. The warmth fades after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the handset becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC throttles and charging slows dramatically, remove the battery and let it cool before continuing.

After fitting the replacement battery, the percentage reading jumps around erratically — sometimes gaining 10% without charging.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't completed a reference cycle yet. It was calibrated to the old cell, so its estimates are unreliable until it has one full data set from the new cell. Let the phone discharge completely to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the fuel gauge has a clean reference and the percentage reading stabilises.
