Fits Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 models SM-T700 and SM-T705, replacing OEM part EB-BT705FBC, EB-BT705FBU, and EB-BT705FBE.
This 3.8V, 4200mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full charge cycles to tablets that no longer hold power or shut down unexpectedly during use.
Connector seats into the original slot with a single locking tab on the right side — orientation is keyed and cannot insert backwards.
We bench-tested this cell in SM-T705 hardware; the fuel gauge IC accepted the new BMS without fault codes across three full charge cycles.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge calibration and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BT705FBC)

This is a 3.8V, 4200mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It fits SM-T700, SM-T705, and SM-T705C variants. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge, drains unpredictably, or fails to power the tablet at all.

  • SM-T700 and SM-T705 compatibility: Both Wi-Fi and LTE variants of the Tab S 8.4 use the same 3.8V cell with identical connector pitch and BMS handshake. The modem rail on the T705 draws from the same voltage bus, so one battery spec covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an SM-T705 under combined display and Wi-Fi load. The BMS held stable across charge and discharge without triggering low-voltage cutoff prematurely. Cell voltage at full charge measured within 0.05V of spec.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using it again. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that typically appear after a swap.

Tab S 8.4 shutting down between 15–25% remaining

The Exynos 5 chipset, AMOLED display, and Wi-Fi radio draw simultaneously during active use. When cell voltage dips under that combined load, the BMS reads it as a low-voltage fault and cuts power before the OS percentage reaches zero. This is a voltage-sag issue, not a capacity defect. A new cell with full charge capacity reduces the voltage drop under load and pushes the actual cutoff point much lower on the gauge.

Fast charging not available after battery swap

After a battery replacement, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard charging until it completes one accepted charge cycle with the new cell. If the tablet is only showing slow charge speeds, plug into the original Samsung adaptive charger and let it run a full uninterrupted cycle to 100%. The charging protocol negotiation re-establishes after that cycle. If fast charge still does not activate, check that the charger output is at least 5V/2A — generic 1A adapters will not trigger the adaptive charging path.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tab S 8.4 shows 40% battery then shuts off completely — is the new battery faulty?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a defective cell. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old battery's discharge curve and misreads the new cell's voltage. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it mid-cycle. That single recalibration cycle resets the IC and the shutoff behaviour resolves.

The battery percentage on my Tab S 8.4 is jumping around after the replacement — dropped from 80% to 55% in minutes without heavy use.

The fuel gauge IC stores the previous cell's capacity curve in memory and applies it to the new cell, producing erratic readings. We see this on most tablet battery swaps during the first few charge cycles. Discharge fully to automatic shutoff and charge uninterrupted to 100% — the gauge re-maps against the new cell's actual voltage range and the erratic drops stop after one or two cycles.

Tab S 8.4 feels warm while charging after the new battery — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. The charge IC applies a conditioning current to the new cell while it establishes its internal resistance baseline, which generates slightly more heat than a broken-in cell would. If the tablet is hot to the touch or the back panel is uncomfortably warm, stop the charge and check that the charger voltage matches the Samsung spec of 5V. A mismatched charger pushing excess voltage will cause sustained overheating.
