Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 / SM-G730 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B450BU)
This 3.7V, 1550mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM B450BU, B450BC, B450BE, and B450BZ batteries. It fits the Samsung GT-I1819 (Galaxy Ace 2), SM-G730, SM-G730A, SM-G3518, and nine additional variants on the same platform. Capacity is 1550mAh (5.74Wh), matching the original specification.
- GT-I1819 and SM-G730 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The B450BU part number spans all variants, so one cell covers the full GT-I1819 and SM-G730 production run without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a GT-I1819 unit and monitored the charge IC handshake. The BMS accepted the charge signal on the first connection, held voltage above 3.5V under display-plus-modem load, and completed a full charge cycle without interruption.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. The fuel gauge IC on the GT-I1819 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle at standard current lets it map the new cell before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GT-I1819 after a cell swap
The GT-I1819 shuts down abruptly at 20–30% because the modem and display together pull enough current to cause a rapid voltage drop in an aged or uncalibrated cell. A new cell can trigger the same behaviour on the first few cycles if the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's internal resistance model. The phone cuts power when terminal voltage dips below roughly 3.4V under that combined load — even though the coulomb counter still shows charge remaining. Run one full discharge to the auto-off point, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to force the fuel gauge to relearn the new cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve.
Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage at roughly 1–3% per month. If the B450BU cell arrived or was stored in a discharged state for an extended period, terminal voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — the BMS lockout threshold. At that point the BMS disconnects the cell to prevent damage, and the phone shows no response to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC applies a trickle pre-charge current to recover the cell voltage above the 2.5V BMS re-enable threshold before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The GT-I1819 shows a different percentage on the replacement battery than I'd expect — it jumped from 45% to 78% after a short charge. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the GT-I1819 uses a coulomb counter calibrated to your old cell's specific discharge curve. When you install a new cell, that stored model no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity relationship of the new chemistry. The IC interpolates incorrectly, causing percentage jumps or flat spots. Run one complete discharge cycle to auto-off, then charge to 100% without interruption — after that single cycle the fuel gauge recalibrates to the new cell and readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting the B450BU — the phone is charging but very slowly. Is something wrong?
On the first connection after a cell swap, the charge IC on the GT-I1819 often defaults to standard 500mA current until it completes a handshake with the new BMS. If the phone was below approximately 3.0V when first connected, the IC enters trickle pre-charge mode and will not step up to fast-charge current until the cell clears that threshold. Let the phone charge without disconnecting it — the IC negotiates the higher current automatically once cell voltage reaches 3.0V. If fast charging still does not engage after a full cycle, check that the charger output matches the OEM spec of 5V/1A or higher.
The back of the GT-I1819 feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell. Should I be concerned?
A new high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat during the first few charge cycles than a conditioned one — the charge IC pushes current into a cell with higher internal resistance until the chemistry fully activates. This is normal and typically reduces after two or three full cycles. If the back stays warm to the point of discomfort after three cycles, check that you are not charging in an enclosed space or in direct sunlight, as the GT-I1819 has no active thermal management beyond the charge IC's own current-limiting circuit. If surface temperature exceeds approximately 40°C to the touch after the break-in period, disconnect and check the charger output voltage.
