Fits Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.2 (GT-P8220) and replaces OEM battery AAaD828oS/T-B.
3.8V Li-Polymer cell with 6600mAh capacity powers the 8.2-inch display and WiFi radio continuously.
Connector seats flat against the tablet frame with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested the cell under combined display and WiFi load — BMS held steady voltage curve throughout discharge.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% to recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against the new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.2 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AAaD828oS/T-B)

This is a 3.8V, 6600mAh (25.08Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.2 (GT-P8220 / GT-P8220E). It replaces the original cell when capacity fade has made the tablet unreliable for media, productivity, or general use. Fits the 8.2-inch Android tablet form factor with the stock connector and dimensions.

  • GT-P8220 and GT-P8220E compatibility: Both variants use the same 3.8V Li-Polymer cell, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — the hardware is identical between the two and this battery works across both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on the GT-P8220 platform. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags, and the tablet booted normally through Android.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The fuel gauge IC calibrates against the new cell during that first full cycle — skipping it leaves the percentage readout misaligned with actual capacity.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC wasn't expecting, it triggers an early low-battery shutdown. The display and WiFi together draw enough current to cause a short voltage sag that crosses the cutoff threshold before the real capacity is exhausted. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that cycle the IC recalibrates and shutdowns at 15–25% stop.

Fast charging not available after replacing the GT-P8220 battery

Samsung's charge IC on the Tab Pro 8.2 runs a handshake with the battery's BMS before enabling higher charge rates. On a freshly installed cell, that negotiation sometimes completes only after the first full accepted charge cycle. If fast charge remains unavailable, confirm the charger is the original Samsung adaptive charger — third-party USB adapters often lack the voltage signalling required for the protocol. After one full cycle with the correct charger, the charge rate should return to normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy Tab Pro 8.2 is showing a completely wrong battery percentage after I swapped the battery — is that fixable?

Yes — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage readout is misaligned from the start. Run the tablet down until it shuts off automatically, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it mid-charge. That single full cycle forces the IC to recalibrate against the new cell. After that the percentage display tracks accurately.

The GT-P8220 drops from around 20% to zero and shuts off with no warning — why does this keep happening even with a new battery?

The voltage cliff on a Li-Polymer cell can be steep below 3.5V per cell, and the combined draw of the display, WiFi, and background Android processes causes a brief voltage sag that crosses the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage has caught up. This is almost always a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a faulty battery. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — that resets the IC's low-voltage reference point and the sudden dropouts stop.

The tablet feels noticeably warm near the back during the first few charges after the battery replacement — should I be concerned?

Warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell is normal. The charge IC runs a conditioning pass on a fresh cell, which generates slightly more heat than steady-state charging on a broken-in battery. We measured surface temperatures on the bench and they stayed within Samsung's thermal envelope throughout. If the tablet feels hot to the touch — not just warm — or the charge stops before 100%, disconnect the charger and check that the battery connector is fully seated flat against the board.
