Connector seats flush into the battery bay slot with positive terminal facing inward; locking tab engages left side.
We bench-tested this cell against an NP-N143 motherboard; the BMS accepted handshake immediately and charged to cutoff without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung NP-N143 / NP-N145P Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AA-PB2VC6B)

This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung NP-N143 netbook series. It covers the NP-N143, NP-N143P, NP-N145P, NP-N148, and 26 additional models using the same battery platform. Cross-compatible OEM part numbers include AA-PB2VC6B, AA-PB3VC6B, AA-PL2VC6B, and related variants.

  • N-series netbook platform: The NP-N143 through NP-N148 family shares a common 11.1V three-cell battery bus with an identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers this entire range without firmware conflicts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the NP-N143 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the Samsung EC, charge acceptance reached full capacity, and no fault codes were triggered during load cycling.
  • Post-swap calibration on Samsung netbooks: After fitting this cell, run the battery down to automatic hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the BIOS to complete a battery learn cycle and clears the false "poor health" warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the NP-N143 BIOS flags a new battery as poor health

The Samsung NP-N143 stores capacity and health data in EEPROM on the original battery's fuel gauge IC. When a replacement cell is installed, that EEPROM data is gone — the BIOS compares the new cell's reported state against a stored baseline that no longer matches. The result is a "battery health poor" or "replace battery" warning that shows up immediately, even with a new cell at full charge. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full uninterrupted charge gives the BIOS enough cycle data to rebuild its baseline and clear the warning. After two to three full cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the health indicator reads correctly.

NP-N143 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load — even though the OS fuel gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. The fuel gauge IC is reading a resting voltage, not a loaded voltage, and the gap between the two widens as the cell ages or after a swap before calibration. The fix is the same learn cycle: discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. Once the fuel gauge IC has logged actual loaded-discharge data against this cell, the shutdown threshold and displayed percentage will align — verify by checking battery voltage under load sits above 10.8V at the 20% mark.

Frequently Asked Questions

Samsung NP-N143 showing 0% or "unknown battery" right after I installed the new cell — what's wrong?

The laptop's fuel gauge IC lost its EEPROM reference data when the original battery was removed. The new cell has no stored history for the BIOS to read, so it reports 0% or unknown until a calibration cycle is complete. Discharge the battery fully until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without pulling the power cable. After one full cycle the fuel gauge IC rebuilds its baseline and the percentage reads correctly.

Windows Battery Report is showing the wrong Wh rating for this replacement — it says something completely different from the spec sheet.

The Wh figure in Windows Battery Report pulls from the EEPROM on the battery's fuel gauge IC, not from a live measurement. A new replacement cell carries its own EEPROM values, which may differ slightly from what the old battery reported — this is a data mismatch, not a capacity fault. The actual charge the cell holds is 48.84Wh as rated. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles and the reported value will converge toward the actual rated figure as the fuel gauge IC calibrates against real cycle data.

New battery charges to 80% and then just stops — charger light stays on but percentage won't climb higher.

Some Samsung netbook BIOS versions include a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. This is a firmware-controlled behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. Check the Samsung Battery Manager or Easy Settings utility — if it's installed, look for a "Battery Life Extender" or "Optimised Battery" toggle and switch it off. After disabling, the next charge cycle should run to 100%.
