Fits Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 models SM-T355, SM-T355C, SM-T357W and replaces OEM battery EB-BT355ABE.
3.7V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer cell matches the original capacity—no loss of runtime between charges on this 8-inch form factor.
Connector slides straight into the battery socket with no locking tab; orientation marked on the motherboard near the contact pads.
We bench-tested this cell on SM-T355 hardware; BMS accepted the new pack on first charge with no fault codes or voltage rail noise.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100%—this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves the inaccurate percentage display that appears after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BT355ABE)

This 3.7V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM EB-BT355ABE cell in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0. It fits SM-T355, SM-T355C, SM-T357W, and related Tab A 8.0 variants. Dimensions are 113.90 x 93.60 x 2.50mm — same footprint as the original.

  • SM-T355 series compatibility: The SM-T355, SM-T355C, and SM-T357W share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. One cell part number covers the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an SM-T355 and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge IC initiated correctly, and the protection circuit responded to over-discharge conditions as expected.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a replacement.

Why the Tab A 8.0 shuts down at 15–25% after a battery swap

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 uses a fuel gauge IC that stores charge curve data from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still referencing the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. Under combined display and Wi-Fi load, voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, and the tablet hits its low-voltage cutoff while the gauge still reads 15–25%. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets this curve against the new cell.

Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on SM-T355

Some SM-T355 units stop offering fast charge after a battery swap. The charge IC negotiates charge rate on the first accepted charge cycle — if the tablet was powered on or restarted mid-charge during that first session, negotiation can fail and the device defaults to standard 5V charging. To recover, connect the original Samsung charger, power the tablet completely off, and allow one uninterrupted charge from below 10% to 100%. Fast charge availability should restore after that cycle completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tab A 8.0 shows 40% battery but shuts off without warning — is this the new battery's fault?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC calibrated its charge curve to the old worn battery and now misreads the new cell's voltage profile. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. After one complete cycle, the IC recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

The percentage on my SM-T355 is jumping around — it went from 60% to 82% when I plugged it in.

Erratic percentage jumps after a swap are a fuel gauge IC issue, not a hardware fault with the cell. The IC holds learned data from the old battery and applies it incorrectly to the new one, causing the gauge to snap to a different value when charging voltage kicks in. Run one full discharge to shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle the gauge tracks the new cell correctly and the jumps stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery in my Galaxy Tab A 8.0 — the charger is fine.

The charge IC on the Tab A 8.0 completes its fast charge rate negotiation during the first full accepted charge session. If that first charge was interrupted or the tablet restarted mid-cycle, the IC defaulted to standard 5V and locked there. Power the tablet fully off, connect the original Samsung charger, and let it charge from below 10% to 100% without interruption or restarts. Fast charge should be available again after that session completes.
