Fits Samsung SPR-5050 and SPR-5060 cordless phones; replaces OEM part 60AAAH3BMU.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers stable voltage through call cycles on DECT handsets.
Connector is a two-pin vertical slot; slides straight down into the battery compartment.
We bench-tested this cell in a SPR-5050 base unit; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SPR-5050 / SPR-5060 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (60AAAH3BMU)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Samsung SPR-5050 and SPR-5060 cordless handsets. It replaces OEM part 60AAAH3BMU and restores wireless operation when the original cell no longer holds charge. The pack matches the original voltage rail and connector so the base station charges it the same way it charged the factory battery.

  • SPR-5050 and SPR-5060 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.6V three-cell NiMH configuration, identical connector pinout, and the same base station charge circuit. One pack covers both handsets.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the SPR-5060 base station charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted charge without error and delivered stable voltage across standby and active RF transmit loads.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after installing the new pack and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells arrive partially discharged from storage — skipping this slow first charge means the pack will not reach its rated 700mAh capacity and talk time will fall short.

Base station showing a charging error on a new NiMH pack

Samsung's SPR-series base stations check for a minimum voltage before they begin the charge cycle. A NiMH pack that has sat in storage can drop below that threshold, typically around 3.0V, and the base rejects it as a fault condition rather than a flat battery. The fix is a slow top-up with a compatible external NiMH charger to bring the pack above 3.2V, then seat it in the base again. Once the base sees an acceptable voltage, the error clears and normal charging resumes.

Range drops noticeably when the new battery is under RF load

A fresh NiMH pack has not yet gone through full conditioning, so its internal resistance is higher than it will be after several charge cycles. Under the burst current demand of DECT RF transmission, that resistance causes a voltage sag that reduces transmit power and cuts effective range. This is normal for the first three to five charge-discharge cycles — range improves as internal resistance drops with each cycle. Run the handset through full discharge and recharge cycles rather than topping it up frequently during this break-in period.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Samsung SPR-5060 talk time is much shorter than it was with the original battery — is the new pack faulty?

It is not faulty. NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — 700mAh in this case. During those first cycles the cells are still conditioning, so talk time starts below the original and climbs with each cycle. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator triggers, then return it to the base for a full charge rather than topping it up mid-day. By cycle five, capacity should be at or near the 700mAh rating.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones drop their registration data when power is fully removed from the handset. Removing the old battery and fitting the new pack can cause exactly this. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station — hold it for three to five seconds until the base confirms a link, then confirm on the handset side following the SPR-5050/5060 manual steps. The process takes under two minutes and does not affect stored contacts or settings on the base.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what causes that?

This points to a seating issue rather than a faulty pack. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts do not make a reliable connection and the handset draws from the battery instead of the mains. Check that the handset sits flush in the cradle and that both charge contacts on the handset align with the pins on the base. If the charge indicator light on the base does not illuminate within 30 seconds of placing the handset, reseat it and confirm the light comes on before walking away.
