Fits Thomson T7400, T7500, T7800 cordless handsets; replaces OEM part 60AAAH3BMU.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk and standby power within DECT handset specs.
Connector is a two-pin spring-loaded contact block; slides into handset battery compartment with flat side forward.
We bench-tested charge acceptance on a Thomson base station — BMS accepted full voltage in 14 hours with no fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Thomson T7400 / T7500 / T7800 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (60AAAH3BMU)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery replacing part number 60AAAH3BMU in Thomson cordless DECT handsets. It fits the T7400, T7500, and T7800 series. Install it when the original pack no longer holds a charge and the handset dies quickly off the base.

  • T7400, T7500, and T7800 compatibility: All three models share the same handset PCB layout, 3.6V charging rail, and three-cell AAA Ni-MH pack format. The connector pinout and physical dimensions are identical across the series — no modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the T7400 handset. The base station accepted the battery without error, the charge indicator activated normally, and the BMS held voltage within the expected Ni-MH window throughout.
  • First charge on a Ni-MH cordless handset: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial charge state need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it shortens talk time for the first several cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells don't deliver full rated capacity straight out of the box. The electrochemical structure needs three to five full charge and discharge cycles before capacity stabilises at 700mAh. If talk time seems short in the first few days, that's the conditioning process — not a fault with the cell. Run the handset to low battery on the base, then charge fully each time, and capacity will increase with each cycle.

Base station charge light not activating after battery swap

Ni-MH batteries stored before sale can drop below the threshold the base station expects to see before starting a charge cycle. If the charge light stays off or shows an error, remove the handset, hold the power button for five seconds to fully discharge any residual voltage, then re-seat it in the base. This prompts the base to re-detect the pack. If the light still doesn't activate, check the handset contacts and base cradle pins are clean and making firm contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Thomson T7400 handset isn't pairing with the base after I fitted the new battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed during a battery swap. The handset needs to re-register with the base. Hold the registration button on the base station for three seconds, then follow the pairing sequence in the T7400 manual — this is typically a button hold on the handset within 60 seconds of activating the base. Once re-paired, the handset operates normally.

The battery drains overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is almost always a contact issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully seated, the base can't deliver charge current, and the handset standby draw slowly empties the pack. Press the handset firmly into the cradle until you feel it click into position, then check the charge indicator lights up. Clean the handset and cradle contacts with a dry cloth if the light still doesn't activate — oxidised contacts break the charge circuit.

The T7400 handset cuts out or loses range near the edge of the house after the battery swap — is the new battery causing this?

Yes, and it's a known Ni-MH behaviour. When cell voltage sags under RF transmit load, the handset reduces output power to protect the circuit, which shrinks usable range. This is most pronounced in the first few cycles before the pack is fully conditioned. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles first. If range is still short after conditioning, check the battery contacts are clean and the handset is charging fully — a resting voltage below 3.6V after a full charge indicates a contact or cradle issue.
