Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung XE510C25 / XE510C24 — 7.6V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AA-PBTN2TP)
This is a 7.6V, 5050mAh (38.38Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Chromebook XE510C25-K01US, XE510C25, XE510C24-K01US, and XE510C24-K04US, among other XE510 variants. It replaces the OEM part AA-PBTN2TP directly. The slim 3.42mm cell profile matches the original pack geometry inside the 15.6-inch Chromebook chassis.
- XE510C24 and XE510C25 compatibility: Both the C24 and C25 variants share the same 7.6V two-cell Li-Polymer configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single replacement covers the full XE510 line across both build revisions.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Chromebook XE510 unit. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, charge current accepted normally from the OEM adapter, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
- Post-swap learn cycle on ChromeOS: After installing, let the Chromebook discharge fully until it hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and clears the inaccurate battery health warning ChromeOS displays after every cell replacement.
Why ChromeOS flags poor battery health immediately after replacing the XE510 cell
ChromeOS reads battery health from EEPROM data stored on the original cell's BMS. When you swap in a new cell, the system compares the new cell's reported state-of-charge against the old EEPROM profile and flags a mismatch as degraded health. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity curve. After one or two full cycles, the health indicator normalises and reflects the new cell accurately.
XE510 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated to the new cell — the percentage displayed is based on the old cell's discharge curve, not the replacement's. Under full load (CPU burst plus display at full brightness), the new cell hits its actual low-voltage floor before the reported percentage reaches zero, and the BMS trips a protective shutdown. The fix is the same learn cycle: discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two full cycles the reported percentage and the actual cell voltage align, and early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
ChromeOS is showing "Battery health: poor" right after I put in the new battery — is the replacement already dead?
No. ChromeOS pulls health data from EEPROM on the old cell's BMS, and a new cell doesn't carry that history — so the system reads the mismatch as degraded. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% uninterrupted without using the machine. After that cycle the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell and the health warning clears.
My XE510 is showing 38Wh in system info but online it says the battery should be 39Wh — did I get the wrong battery?
The 38.38Wh rating is the actual measured energy capacity of this cell at 7.6V nominal. OEM spec sheets sometimes round to 39Wh. The difference is a rounding convention in the EEPROM-stored Wh value versus the real cell chemistry — it is not a sign of a counterfeit or underspec cell, and the Chromebook will charge and discharge normally.
The XE510 charges fine but the battery percentage jumps around — drops 10% in two minutes then barely moves for an hour
The fuel gauge IC in the Chromebook hasn't mapped its discharge curve to the new cell yet — it's still using the old cell's profile as a reference. The readout stabilises after two to three full calibration cycles. Discharge to hibernate each time without interruption, then charge fully to 100% before using the machine again. By the third cycle the percentage steps should track evenly across the full discharge range.
